17.01.2022 Last Friday Ryan attended the Adopt and Apprentice workshop and spoke to some young people looking to gain apprentiships with practical tips to help them on their journey. Read on for the names of some of those looking for an apprenticeship. To say it was a success is an understatement! Sue Ralph had some kind words to say... "A big thank you for all the time and effort you put into organising the materials and planning to present to the young men who attended The Adopt an... Apprentice event. The materials that you provided were spot on. Visually they appealed to the young guys. The message was clear and precise and a handy tool for them to reflect on when preparing for an interview Your presentation amazing. You had these young guys eating out of the palm of your hands from the get go. You presented information on: How to dress for an interview. How to prepare for the interview doing your research. How to answer questions and turning negatives into positives. (Brilliant) The do’s and the big no-no’s in an interview. What employers are looking for. Being persistent phoning and putting themselves out there social media sites, visiting business CV - a good and bad example Proof reading and giving feedback of CV’s brilliant. You related so well to the young guys. Everything you said you backed up with experience and real life stories. This made it so relatable for the guys and meant that the information you gave them will be remembered for some time. This has laid a good foundation to set them up for future success in their endeavour to find an apprenticeship position. The students who attended and the apprenticeship areas they are looking into are: Dylan Page mechanical apprenticeship James Ralph electrical apprenticeship James Galvin plumbing or cabinetry apprenticeship.
