It has surely been a year of changes and also celebrations for us here at ReachAcross Brisbane, and we wanted to send you a note of appreciation for standing with us and supporting our mission. From all of us at ReachAcross Brisbane, we wish you a safe and blessed Christmas, and we trust you will have a Happy New Year in 2021! 13.01.2022 [UPDATED] A big and warm THANK YOU to everyone who financially and spiritually contributed to our #India2021 initiative, which will commence next year. We have raised $A5,504 so far (which surpassed our fundraising goal of $A5,000), but we are still receiving donations until tonight.... "And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up." Galatians 6:9 ESV _______________________________________________ WAYS TO DONATE: 1. Change For Change [Coming Soon] _______________________________________ WHY ARE WE FUNDRAISING? Bihar is the third largest state by population in India. Its population in 2020 is estimated to be 124 Million. It is one of the poorest states in the country. 36 million people out of more than 120 million are poor or live under the poverty line. Only 11.3% of the Bihar population lives in the city. 80% of Bihar’s population focuses on agriculture and animal husbandry as their primary vocation. Islam is the second-largest religion practiced in Bihar, with almost 17% of residents are Muslim; with a majority of the population affected by the terrible conditions being exacerbated by COVID-19. Due to patriarchal tradition, women’s mobility and ability to work outside the home are limited. Less than 10% of adult women are engaged in gainful employment. As there is a low level of women’s literacy, coupled with the low workforce participation rate; the living condition for women in the area are further affected by cultural factors, mainly by the patriarchal conditions in society; which is the reason behind our 2021 India Project. #reachacrossbrisbane #apassionfortheunreached #india2021
