23.01.2022 Inspired by the Resilience Project Our Monday afternoon group have been pretty inspired with the Resilience Project this term and decided to complete their "Dismoment Challenge". Basically we all had 1 minute to find something we loved or were grateful for, something that we could share on the screen. Enjoy! #dismoment #resilienceproject

22.01.2022 Whilst we have been teaching our online classes, we have been busy with our side project which we are proud to announce today! Four Wall Monologues We asked our React family to choose a piece that they loved and film it themselves in a creative and unusual way; using only what was available within the four walls of their home.... The results were a mix of dark, humourous, sad, romantic, and quirky pieces done in isolation. Be warned, some are definitely not for younger viewers. Check it out at www.fourwallmonologues.com

21.01.2022 We are back baby!! Classes at our Hobart Studio start today! To all our supporters who joined us in our online journey, we thank you and love you all! Cant wait to see your faces albeit in a responsible socially distant way :)

20.01.2022 Today we announced to all our families and friends of React some big news. Before we jump into that we want you all to know that we share in your dismay and frustration as to the current situation, not just with the arts industry, but across all industries, and peoples who are struggling at the moment. In the past week we have received such wonderful feedback from students, families and friends about React and what it means to them. We find this so heartfelt especially since ...so many families are facing such incredible challenges both now and possibly in the future. So now we look to Reacts future. And we think its a bright one. Our plan is this: A) Due to recent Federal Government restrictions, taking immediate effect on-campus classes in our Argyle Street Studio will close. B) We will be conducting online classes for the remainder of Term One. We have already begun work in this transition and will be conducting our first session with our Monday Afternoon and Inceptum Class today. But wait...there is more. We are hopeful for the future of React. And in many ways, we are excited about what innovations are to come in light of such difficult circumstances. We love what our students do, and what they have collectively achieved over our 20 year history. Our pledge to you all is that React will most definitely continue. No virus is going to stand in our way. If you are interested in us, here is what can you do: A) Buy a voucher. We are offering vouchers for any term at React, at a 15% discount rate. These can be purchased via the following link: https://www.reactdramaschool.com.au/shop C) Grab some React Merchandise. We have t-shirts, hoodies, and tote bags available on our website via the following link: https://www.reactdramaschool.com.au/merchandise D) Spread the word. If you love us, then spread the word about us. E) Engage online. We are launching a project for our students, and other associated artists that we hope will go global, and provide some much needed respite for students, artists and families in these dark times. Until then, please talk to us. Phone 0417827805, or email [email protected], or message us via Facebook or Instagram. We hope that you and your family and friends stay safe, well, and know that we are far from being done yet. We love you Tassie! Andrew Casey and all the Team at React

19.01.2022 When Covid 19 hit us, we at React did what we always do. We said to ourselves, Right., Lets get on with it. At this time, we would normally be doing performances In front of 400 plus people, attempting to do ten plays in a day. That in itself is pretty nuts. But given COVID vaporised the idea of having friends and families join us, we said stuff it, lets take it to them So last weekend, we did 28 hours of filming to cut together a group of works that our React Fam can ...watch at home. There were glimpses of the apocalypse, unrequited love, sexy puppets, buildings bashed by cricket bats, tanks, duologues, monologues, dialogues, fog machines, you name it. All done with three cameras, a bunch of misfit tutors and some crazed animal students. Plus a truckload of hand sanitiser and bacterial wipes. We worked our collective butts off. And we loved it. So now we plan for the next chapter. And we plan to go bigger. You want to get on board, book now because whilst we go big we keep class sizes small. Go to www.reactdramaschool.com.au to learn more.

13.01.2022 This might be of interest to some of our teen students who experience anxiety performing in front of a crowd.

13.01.2022 So last weekend we ended our 19th year at React with our most ambitious series of plays yet. It goes without saying that it was a challenging year, not just for us, but for everyone. When we ended Term 1, we were all unsure as to what was in store for React's future. But with the fortutide and commitment of our students, our staff and all the React families out there, we adapted, we educated ourselves and worked damn hard to do some of our best work ever. When we could ...not perform live, we filmed each play and broadcast it for our families and friends. When we could not audition, we created our own online project, called Four Wall Monologues. And when we knew we could finally get up on stage, we threw all that we had at each performance. But of course we could not have done this without the help of many others. A huge thanks go to legends like Arts Tas, Moonah Arts Centre, Hobart City Council, Geoff Young, Gary Crawford, John X, and every single person who watched our videos, came to our plays, bought a t-shirt or a voucher, sent messages of support or just follow us on Social Media. A massive thanks goes to the exceptionally brilliant React Staff. These champs saw this year as a challenge to strive for the best and we are forever in their debt. And best of all, our love and deepest gratitude go to each student who attended classes throughout the year, especially since they were all doing it tough during COVID. So next year we are back, bigger than ever. We are turning 20 and we want to celebrate it with you all. Book before Christmas and you get 10% off. Until then, enjoy a few moments from our last performance and hit us up at www.reactdramaschool.com.au if you want to learn more. Merry Christmas Reacters! Love your work! Andrew and the Team at React
