22.01.2022 A quick update from Herberton WTP. It’s our fourth week onsite and Jack is back for a week to lend a hand. The prewire is all but finished, and the terminations have begun

22.01.2022 #FlashbackFriday Circa 1960s, Arthur Jackson of the No. 2 Construction Gang works on a steel tower by the Tweed River as part of the new Coolangatta-Cudgen 33kV... feeder. This project aimed to improve energy supply to the town of Murwillumbah and the larger Tweed Shire. The lack of PPE is stressing us out. Credits: Queensland Energy Exhibition Centre

21.01.2022 Another week done. Jack arrived Tuesday to give us a hand with the cable tray ready for us to start jerking cables on Monday. Thought we might get a good selfie in from the Boon lift while we were at it

14.01.2022 No MEN (Main Earth Neutral) installed which is a big no no. Without it, your circuit protection devices and safety switches may not operate correctly when you need them most. If your unsure how safe your switchboard is, give us a call.

13.01.2022 Talk to your electrician about safety switches - one may not be enough to keep your family safe. Get safety switches installed on all circuits. Remember to test your safety switch using the test button every three months. http://ow.ly/udDH50vNsQX

12.01.2022 Looking forward to doing the electrical and instrument installation and commissioning at the new Herberton water treatment plant. The plant, complete with reservoir is located on a small ridge above the town, and when completed will allow the locals to drink the water straight from the tap without having to boil it. More photos to follow over the next month or so as the job progresses.

11.01.2022 Friday night Beers after a good first week. Jacko will be here next week to give us a hand

10.01.2022 A man who posed as a qualified electrician to get work in homes around south-east Queensland has been fined $100,000 in the Brisbane Magistrates Court. Amilcar ...Appel advertised as an electrician via online marketplace Airtasker to households between November 2015 and June 2017. However, he had never held an electrical contractor licence or any qualifications to perform electrical work. Don’t be caught out by unlicensed tradies, check that your electrician is registered at electricalsafety.qld.gov.au See more

09.01.2022 Even if the network supply is turned off, solar PV systems continue producing voltages during the day and the wiring will be still live. If you have a solar PV ...system that has been damaged in a flood, storm or cyclone avoid getting on the roof unless absolutely necessary and keep away from solar panels and their cables. You will need to have an electrical contractor inspect the system and check it is safe. Find out more about safety for solar systems ow.ly/li5Z30nB13E #NthQld #townsvillefloods See more

09.01.2022 Well that’s the end of week 1. Motor control centre has been delivered and put in place in the switch room, and we’ve given the cable tray a good nudge. Good job most of the work is inside as it has pretty well rained non stop since we’ve been here.

08.01.2022 Congratulations to Jack Harrison our School based Apprentice who has been nominated for the TAFE School based apprentice of the year! A big thank you to Cavendish Rd State High School for nominating Jack in recognition of his hard work since starting his apprenticeship at the start of the year. Good luck Jack, can’t wait to see you on stage at the awards night.

07.01.2022 Out of sight, out of mind. Something to think about.

06.01.2022 Keg wrapper at XXXX

06.01.2022 Well we’ve been busy since our return from Far North Qld. A big thanks to Foodmach who have been kind enough to use Reactive Power to help service a number of their clients including OI where they make glass bottles, and where I did my first apprenticeship, and this week at the XXXX brewery installing the new keg wrapper.

01.01.2022 If your thinking of having a crack yourself, make sure you have good smoke detectors installed. At least you might have a chance of saving something, because your insurance won’t cover you. Better still give us a call for a obligation free inspection and quote.
