21.01.2022 We’re back open for clothing donations Tuesdays to Thursdays, between 10am and 3pm. Ready Set volunteer Lee visited Sylvie Berchick from Prahran Rotary last week to collect a generous donation of new clothing, shoes and personal toiletries. We really appreciate their support and know their donation will make it easier for our job seeker clients to find the confidence they need to succeed at interview.... 16.01.2022 So pleased to read an update on Allyson, who we met when we did a pop-up clothing fitting session in Geelong a few years back. At the time she needed appropriate clothing to wear to start her traineeship. After a lot of work on her part and the support of Northern Futures, Allyson’s journey has led to her current role as Justice Officer with the Department of Justice and Community Safety. Congrats to her. This is the power of organisations working together to support people... towards employment. For many it’s a wholistic approach they need from multiple servicesan opportunity alone is not enough if you don’t have the support or tools you need to make the most of it. 08.01.2022 Wow.you donated an incredible $29,879 yesterday during giving day! We are so very, very grateful to everyone who donated or shared our story. For us this is huge, in our 10 years of fundraising for Ready Set we have never experienced such generosity and kindness from so many. The funds you have donated will supplement money we have raised during our recent fashion sales and several grants we have been recently awarded by some wonderful philanthropic organisations They will ...assist us to pay rent, utilities and salaries for our small team of three part-time employees, and purchase items we need for clients that don’t get donated. Like everyone, we don’t know what bumps lie in the road ahead with COVID still around us and the business landscape still uncertain but for now we know that we can comfortably continue to support those who need it most, so they can attend a job interview or start work with dignity and confidence.
