20.01.2022 I have been pretty quiet on our page as I’ve been focusing on being a mum, looking after my family and I. So here I am 3 months since the birth of our son. During my pregnancy I didn’t go to the gym very often for a couple of reasons. I was focused on nurturing myself and our unborn child, then Covid hit so I didn’t want to take any chances. However, I did keep active in other ways, by incorporating stretching and breathing exercises into my days in preparation for birthing... - both mentally and physically (well I’m not sure if any woman is ever really prepared). I was amazed to watch my body transform and find the whole journey absolutely incredible - what a woman’s body can go through to bring the miracle of life into this world. I loved every moment of being pregnant, despite having horrific heartburn. In actual fact I felt the most beautiful, softness and feminine I have ever felt. I certainly embraced the pure joy of falling and being pregnant. Now 3 months after giving birth to our beautiful boy and I never want to spend a moment away from him. I know the importance of having some me time and what that means to us both. Even being away for one hour my mind does not stop thinking about him, is he ok?, does he have a clean nappy, does he know I’m not there with him? The thinking doesn’t stop. So I decided I was ready and wanting to get back to the gym. It’s important to know I am not there to get skinny and get back to my pre pregnancy body. I’m not fooled thinking my body will be what it was before. My body is far from perfect and I don’t care that is no longer my focus. When I looked around the gym at these beautiful men and women with shredded tanned bodies I thought oh shit what am I doing. Then I remembered my goal is not shredded perfection my goal is to regain Strength and a Calm mind . It wasn’t easy and I did feel like a fish out of water the first day back but I am so proud of myself because I went back for more. - Do I feel a calm mind? YASSSSS!!! - Are my muscles sore? HELL Yes they are!! My message is don’t be fooled by shit you see on social media, don’t feel the pressure of social media - keep it real - you are you!!!!
