05.02.2022 What does a gardener do on his day off? Harvest some fruit and veggies from our garden and cook them up for friends and family. Poached Peaches, Peach Chutney and Peach and Bourbon BBQ sauce.

25.01.2022 WINTER has arrived in Melbourne. While the lawns have slowed down and it’s pretty cold and wet; There are still some important jobs to do in the garden. With the wet weather come the snails. Get out with the torch on a drizzly evening and pick up as many snails as you can. Catching them now will slow the population explosion. Also put some snail bait around vulnerable plants. Spray your Citrus trees with Pest Oil to treat Thrip and other sucking insects. I have posted some pics from my garden this weekend. June and July are the months to prune Roses and deciduous fruit trees. For best flowering and fruiting result, timing is critical for these jobs. Feel free to contact us for advise or help with any gardening matters.

12.01.2022 Very busy time in the garden this week. These are just some of the jobs you should have on your list. -FERTILISE. Lawns and garden need food to encourage strong health growth. -ROSES. Spray with Rose Shield to protect from pests and disease. LAWNS. Spray broad leaf weeds, Paspalum and Winter grass for the perfect lawn. STONE FRUIT. Spray Peaches, Nectarines etc with Lime Sulphur to protect from Leaf Curl. (Read instructions)... If you have any questions regarding these jobs just ask and we’ll do our best to help. Thanks Brad & Gizelle.

11.01.2022 Hey Guys. It’s Stone Fruit time. Peaches, Apricot, Nectarines and Plumbs are all in season. Unfortunately despite their best intentions, many people neglect their fruit trees and miss out on nature’s bounty. Keep your trees at a manageable size. This will help produce larger fruit and make it easier to cover the tree with bird netting to protect the fruit. Know when and what to spray on your trees to protect them from pests and disease. Keep your trees well watered to produc...e larger fruit. Cover the trees with bird netting thoroughly. Birds, possums and rats will find any gaps in your netting. I use cable ties to sew the netting together. Please don’t think that netting draped over the tree will protect your fruit. You’ve come this far. Make sure your fruit is protected. Of course with a tree full of fruit, you can’t eat them all at once. Check out these peaches I’m preserving and Tomatoes I’m oven drying. See more

10.01.2022 I’d just like to thank all our customers for your patience during these difficult times. The team will be back at work on 28th of September. We have over 60 properties to maintain and will endeavour to get to you all as quickly as possible. We will focus on lawn mowing in the first week before getting stuck into weed sprays and gardening. Please send us a friend request so we can keep you updated with the latest news. Thanks Brad , Gizelle and Darren.

07.01.2022 It’s true we will go above and beyond for our customers.....

07.01.2022 Check out this example of how wasteful and lazy we are as a society. This Magpie chose to build their nest predominantly out of wire, metal and plastic it found littering the ground! If you look closely, there is barely a stick in it. Pick up your rubbish people. Recycle metals etc

07.01.2022 Another busy week in the gardens of Melbourne. This week (and next) will be all about Box (Buxus) Hedges. Now that the frosts are gone, prune the hedges before the hot days in summer. It’s a killer on my back but there’s nothing better than freshly cut hedge.

06.01.2022 Some Before and After shots. It’s great to take before and after shots to see what a difference we’ve made

05.01.2022 Here are a few more before and after shots from this week.

05.01.2022 So you’ve got fruit trees but the birds, possums and rats eat the fruit before it ripens? It’s time to cover them with bird netting before it’s to late. Cover the tree thoroughly with no gaps; Even underneath. Peaches Apricots,Apples, Nectarines, Pears are in fruit right now. Then shoot down to the $2 shop and get some preserving jars. You’ll be surprised just how much fruit you will harvest. Do the same with your tomatoes and Berries.

05.01.2022 Mulch your garden beds. It helps to keep the moisture in, reduce weeds and it looks great. I call it Lipstick for gardens!

05.01.2022 Well I’ve shown plenty of our beautiful properties in the past but they’re not all pretty in the beginning! Here are some recent before and after shots.

04.01.2022 A couple of months ago I was posting about the importance of covering your fruit trees. One person was concerned that netting trees is dangerous for birds. Well the verdict is in. Of the 48 trees we covered this year, not one bird , bat or possum was harmed. Check out my Peaches....

02.01.2022 Invested in a new Scaffold this week. Best idea I’ve had in ages. No more wobbly ladders for me.

01.01.2022 Well when are we going to get some rain?? Driest start to a year on record. As a result there is not a lot of grass to cut at the moment. Luckily we have been very busy catching up on some big garden projects for our regular customers. Unfortunately we’ve had to remove many plants which have not made it through the big dry. So while the grass is slow, take a look around your garden and consider tackling that job you’ve been putting off for a while.....Or even better; Just get us to do it. HAPPY AND SAFE EASTER TO ALL!!

01.01.2022 If you love your lawn like me; Here is a tip to give it a fighting chance through Autumn. Rake up fallen leaves regularly. Your grass needs sun to survive. Wet leave are heavy and can smoother your grass while blocking out the sun. Take them up!! Your lawn will thank you for it.

19.12.2021 Another busy week in the gardens of Melbourne. This week (and next) will be all about Box (Buxus) Hedges. Now that the frosts are gone, prune the hedges before the hot days in summer. It’s a killer on my back but there’s nothing better than freshly cut hedge.
