16.01.2022 I really enjoy reading picture books with children & it is such an easy way to connect with them & have discussions on topics which are hard to explain. This book ‘happy right now’ is one of few books that teaches children that they have the power to chose their thoughts and feelings but also validates that sometimes the feelings are just all too much and feeling your feelings is all you can do. A great read for younger children & a good way to begin to discuss gratitude & ...coping strategies with them in an age appropriate way. See the YouTube read aloud book link below, although nothing beats a real picture book read together https://youtu.be/9hW_bx3hDXU

13.01.2022 Ever wondered how you can build positive relationships with children, friends & family? Active Constructive Responding is the way of responding to gather more information from someone and to help them feel validated. Think about your day and how many times your child approaches you with something to tell you? What %age of those times do you respond with active constructive responding? To further develop your relationship, try and increase the number of times you respond by asking further questions to find out more :-) #readysteadyachieve #anxietyrelief #relationshipgoals #children

12.01.2022 Have you often heard of mindfulness and thought it was just ‘relaxation’ or ‘coping’ strategies and get over hearing the word? This Julia cook book explains mindfulness in a way that children can understand by talking about ensuring your brain is where your feet are. Mindfulness in its purest form is about bringing your mind back to the present moment with acceptance and without judgement on your thoughts that your mind wanders too. This is a 31 page book that explains in a... way that kids (and adults) can understand that idea of mindfulness. The author discusses how the young boys mind hops from thought to thought and it results in him struggling (failing a maths test, being bad at soccer, having a frustrated Mum) etc. His Mum points out that the most successful part of his day was when he was most present. The boy takes her advice and of course he has a more successful next day! #mindfulness #mindful #readysteadyachieve #anxietyrelief This book is read online at the following link: https://youtu.be/NIonL2jFS-E

06.01.2022 Hi everyone, This is just an update from us on our sessions & programs for Term 2. We have quite a few people signed up for Secret Agent Society. These sessions will be postponed, most likely until Term 3. We already have some students booked for Term 3 as well as those who had signed up for Term 2, so once we have the all clear to go ahead, we will arranged dates & times with each individual family to ensure everyone is still able to attend. This means we will be able to b...e more flexible in days and times for individuals as more sessions will be running each week. We don’t believe offering a social skills program via Telehealth or online platforms will be of the best interest of the students at this stage. If you have questions, do not hesitate to contact us via email, Facebook or over the phone. Our Positive Behaviour Support consultations for families will be still offered via an online platform and those who are already receiving academic tutoring will continue.
