19.01.2022 Did you know there's a connection between our sedentary lifestyle and anxiety and depression? Our spines are designed to be free to move in both directions in e...qual amounts. It really concerns me that our children are not having the full range of spinal movement in their growing bodiesand therefore their nervous system. Research has indicated that our brains do not fully develop until our mid-20s. We are seeing growing rates of depression and anxiety related illnesses in young people, which indicates that their nervous system is not functioning optimally. I am not claiming that excessive sitting is the only cause of these illnesses, but I have certainly seen it play a significant role. This is why I'm always encouraging all people - of all ages - to get out, take a walk, and MOVE their bodies. And when you can't - when you have to sit all day at work - try to get up and stretch every 20 minutes. We have flexible spines and we must keep them moving if we want to stay healthy and free from blockages and interference. When our spines are healthy, our minds will be healthier, too!
