20.01.2022 My client was going through a life #transition in his 50s. He sent this to me not long after we worked together on his #wardrobe, which made me so happy . While reviewing his existing wardrobe, he told me he had never truly done a proper shop for himself before. Other people bought clothes for him or he bought clothes out of necessary (like standard office attire) and not necessarily out of the desire for personal self expression. His wardrobe was full of unflattering and o...utdated clothes and didn’t support who he wanted to be known as... in his new phase of life full of exciting new pursuits. There were clothes hanging in his wardrobe from ex girlfriends that needed to go to where they belonged to the past as he prepared himself to find a new life partner! Women warmed to him much more after transforming his style and he become much more #confident in his #social life. Things I noticed: he was wearing a beautiful tie colour and a dark blue suit with subtle vertical stripes weaved into the fabric representing strength and trust. 20.01.2022 I've been watching "Start-Up" on Netflix, a new Korean series about Tech Start-Ups and Kim Seon-Ho plays a man in his 30s who is an Investor, Manager at a Venture Capital Firm aswell as a Mentor at a famous Start-Up Incubator. I'm really appreciating his character's costumes. The Styles say relaxed with casual necklines with medium-contrasting colours but the classic masculine silhouette still says he's in control with "nothing to prove." 16.01.2022 It takes a CONFIDENT Man to wear florals well. It means he is able to embrace his femininity knowing that his masculinity is intact. All genders have both masculine and feminine energy inside them. Men have more generally have more masculinity than women but they also embody femininity. Women are usually the opposite in proportions and the percentages can tilt back and forth depending on our different societal roles. When you appear softer on the outside with your style, yo...u gotta make sure you feel the strength of the divine masculine internally so there is harmony in your presence, otherwise if you’re softer on the outside and feeling mushy on the inside too then you’re out of wack and lacking masculine confidence overall. It will show up in how you walk, talk and behave and people will be able to see and sense your confidence and your lack of self assurance. So work on balancing your internal communication(self talk) as well as the communication that is expressed with your personal style. 15.01.2022 Work attire definitely will be more smart casual going forward. The smart component will put the onus on the staff members to determine what makes sense for their industry and for their audience for that day so that their style and visual communication doesn’t get in the way of them doing their job and communicating effectively with their stakeholders.

13.01.2022 How to Be & Dress #COOLER for the #Summer Sun & Heat: Wear thinner layers / fabrics: This includes linen (which I'm not a fan of because it wrinkles toooo much), cottons and unlined jackets / bottoms, The thinner it is, the more air will pass through instead of build up against your body's skin.... Wear lighter colours: Black/Dark absorbs all light so it also retains heat and feels dark & heavy to actually look at. Where as Light colours reflect light so also deflects heat. Wear more open / looser clothing: You'll feel more comfortable if your clothes are sticking against your skin from fitted garments. Our body naturally expands more when we're warm too (think you feet not fitting into your winter shoes). Wearing clothes that are a slightly looser fit also allows air/wind to pass through more to keep you cooler. Please note that this does not mean super baggy or sloppy! 10.01.2022 Richard the Lead Software Engineer had this to say about Mya’s Style Coaching: Before I was coached by Mya I thought I already had good fashion sense. I dressed comfortably and cleanly, usually in jeans, a t-shirt and a hoodie. What I didn’t realize at the time was how much extra effort I was putting in to be taken seriously simply because the first impression I gave was that I was lazy and immature and couldn’t be taken seriously. During my consultation with Mya, I became a...ware of how serious and significant I was being to overcompensate for the lazy first impression I was making with the clothes I was wearing. I realized that this was not who I wanted to be and that there was an easier way to communicate that I’m a professional as well as fun and playful. Today, I am confident in being self-expressed, buying clothes that work for me and I don’t have to be over intense and serious all the time because my style now communicates that for me, so I don’t need to compensate for anything and I can be myself. What I think this represents for the world looking forward: #GREY is a balancing act, being a blend of black and white(2 extremes) as we learn to keep the best of the old, let go of the redundant and also embrace the new post-c19 world. ... Dark grey can represent grounding and maturity. Mid Grey can also represent uncertainty and indecision, depending on what you’re dealing with, you don’t wanna end up wishy washy. There’s no doubt the distant future is somewhat uncertain still as we all find our footing after the interesting year we’ve had. There is also an opportunity to get present and plan for what’s right in front of us (which is also a great opportunity to be grateful for what/who we have.) #YELLOW represents optimism, its the natural occurrence of sunlight that appears at the end of the rainstorm. We are all looking forward to better days and a brighter future. Yellow is hopeful, cheerful and electrified! If you wanna embrace more yellow, start with an emoji or wear it in a small accessory! 01.01.2022 So you want to dress more casually, you don't really want to wear sharp attire like button up shirts and suit jackets but you know you look good if you do wear it, it helps you to be taken seriously, especially at work. You think that dressing casually will make you look like a 'schmuck'. What do to? Style dilemma! ... (secret: it's not your clothes, it's your mental state) An experiment you could try is to.... just dress casually! (and I don't mean sloppy) This could potentially go 2 ways: 1) You will feel the pain of dress casually and then start to appreciate and value dressing sharper. 2) You will build up you inner confidence to dress the way you want to dress and people will just have to deal with it.
