25.01.2022 LOCKDOWN TAKE #2 Here we go again. With the gyms only having reopened a few weeks ago, there was an excitement to be back training in the gym and working towards your goals. Unfortunately, we're back in lockdown for another 6 weeks.... While it is a massive let down, we refuse to let this squash the motivation of our clients and lose another 6 weeks of progress. This is why we have put together 2 online options to help you keep working on your training and nutrition and not let the next 6 weeks pass you by. With each option you will be working alongside 1 of our coaches to help you get the most of out the next 6 weeks with a structured training plan and nutrition. Your training plans will come with exercise videos to help you follow your programs with precision and the accountability of having each of your workouts reviewed by our coaches. We understand that these lockdowns can be stressful and not everyone is feeling as motivated to keep working on their goals BUT if you are like us and not wanting these lockdowns to ruin your progress then we would love to work with you to get you the best results possible. @ Doreen, Victoria, Australia See more

16.01.2022 COMPOUND vs ISOLATION EXERCISES To build a house you need much more than just a hammer. There are many tools and processes required to get the finished product. The same is true for building a strong, muscular physique. The tools and processes we use in the gym include the different pieces of equipment within the gym along with the way we structure the exercises, reps, sets and the rest of the program. ... When looking at exercises we can categorise them as either a compound or isolation exercise. A compound movement is when there are 2 or more moving joints involved such as a squat where the ankle, knee and hip are moving to perform the exercise. When there are more joints moving this will also mean that there are more muscles involved. These exercises which involve many moving parts often allow us to lift much heavier loads. Deadlifting 100kg is quite easy for many people in the gym but trying to do a 100kg bicep curl is near impossible.Compound movements are often used as a benchmark for strength. Isolation exercises have just 1 joint moving. If we look at a bicep curl, the elbow joint is the only joint that is creating movement. This doesn't come with the benefits of compound exercises but they do have an advantage. They allow us to load a specific muscle which is great if there is a muscle that needs to be developed or strengthened more than others. Neither is considered inherently 'the best' and a good program will include a combination of both compound and isolation exercises to achieved the desired outcomes. @ Doreen, Victoria, Australia See more

Jasvir continues to train under our coaching 5 days a week and is a fantastic client who follows his programs without fail.

05.01.2022 WEIGHT LOSS Weight loss is far more complicated than people acknowledge. The objective actions to losing weight are quite easy to understand but just telling someone to eat less and not be so attached to their weight is much easier said than done. ... Humans are complicated and all of our actions and perceptions are tainted with our own experiences, emotions and trauma. There's also the element of education and understanding that's involved. Put all of these things together and it quickly becomes a complicated process of helping many different people with different backgrounds and lives to all achieve the same goal of losing weight. Whilst each person may require a different plan to achieve success than the next person, it's helpful for everyone to understand some of the factors behind interpreting weight loss and setting healthy expectations. Your body weight is not just fat and muscle so changes in bodyweight are not always going to be related to just these 2 things. Understanding that there's many factors that contribute to and effect your bodyweight is an important step to demystifying and removing the stress of the discussion. @ Doreen, Victoria, Australia See more
