08.03.2022 With winter approaching, mice (and other vermin) are moving inside. This mouse eaten cable was found yesterday in the roof space of a steel-framed house. The homeowner was lucky there was no other damage. Please check on your pest control measures, and update if necessary.
26.02.2022 One of our latest projects - Real Steel Electrics are so proud to be able to contribute to our community and aid the Shire of Harvey in putting up a light pole at the Uduc Road crosswalk. The lights are solar powered, and will sit at 20% capacity at night, and brighten to full power when approached by either a pedestrian or vehicle. Ian custom-made the light bracket at the top, which was both complicated and labour-intensive.

We are taking all reasonable precautions, and ask that our customers do the same to allow us to keep working as long as we can. Harvey, we are all in this together.

14.01.2022 Some really important information! These green domes are everywhere, and should be treated with respect. https://westernpower.com.au//make-the/damaged-green-dome/
14.01.2022 Some fantastic ideas here! We always like to do the walk through with our customers, either on the plan or in the new build. It makes a huge difference. https://www.houzz.com.au/ideabooks/122482568
14.01.2022 Some really good tips on planning your lighting for a bathroom reno. So many people don't know where to put their lighting, or what type goes where. Recently I learned that some lighting designers recommend warm white light in a bathroom, but I personally think light in a bathroom should be as natural as possible - who wants to put makeup on in a yellow (warm) light, and then look like a clown when they go outside! Not me. Any thoughts??

12.01.2022 Happy New Year! We are back to work today. Office hours are back to usual 8.30-3pm Monday to Friday. Ian and Lawrence took a very well-deserved break from electrical installing work, although Ian was kept busy with breakdowns over the holiday period.

12.01.2022 Real Steel Electrics were very very happy to be involved in setting up the new Mucky Pups Dog Wash in Harvey (behind the new Harvey Vet), and felt privileged to be asked to bring our dogs to do a test drive this morning, as Harvey's first customers. We have never used one before and was a bit nervous how it would go, but both our dogs (Retro and Cocoa) absolutely loved it! So easy to use, and they both really enjoyed being pampered. Thanks to Steve and Rachel from Mucky Pups, and wishing you all the best.
11.01.2022 Some more suggestions on planning for your electrical needs. https://www.houzz.com.au//the-places-people-forget-to-inst

10.01.2022 When building or renovating, it hard to keep track of all the details. One small thing is what type of switch plate to use? Instead of the usual white plastic (nothing wrong with it!) there are now a multitude of options available, and now with LED or USB options - there is now more ways than ever to personalise your home. Although not every plate is visible, there are some locations (like in the kitchen splashback) where a white plastic switch or power point may just not be the right choice. Be aware there are other options. https://www.houzz.com.au//the-no1-finishing-touch-your-hom
08.01.2022 Some brands of pumps need regular bearing changes. Its much cheaper to change the bearings than get a new pump! Call Real Steel Electrics for all your pump maintenance needs.

06.01.2022 And for the next installment on lighting - PLANNING, PLANNING and more PLANNING!!!!! Its never too early to plan your lighting. There are endless tips and suggestions and opinions, but please do your research and work out what YOU want in your space. It doesn't have to cost the earth, but it can be a LOT cheaper to plan in advance, or even future-proof by laying cables for pendants or ceiling fans etc during the build/renovation stage and then add the fitting at a later date.... Real Steel Electrics offers a service doing electrical lighting and power plans for renovations and new builds. We will walk through your house plans with you, and ask questions to guide you on how you would live in the space, your furniture placement ideas and offer suggestions on products available to make your house into a home that you love that functions the best way it can, including bluetooth options, two way lighting suggestions, LED strip placement, feature pendants and LED downlights. There are endless options, and we take pride in ensuring that a customer's home lighting suits their lifestyle. https://www.houzz.com.au//shining-the-light-on-good-lighti

02.01.2022 Some really good tips on lighting for a lounge room. Its important to think about where your furniture will be placed, and how you use the space. A bare bulb in the middle of the ceiling just isn't enough! https://www.houzz.com.au//how-do-i-light-my-living-room-st
