25.01.2022 OPEN LETTER: ILLEGALS COST AUSTRALIA Dear Mav supporter, Illegal immigration is a cancer and we need a tougher approach to protect jobs and living standards for Australians. ... Illegals aren’t just the few in government detention centres, it’s the hundreds of thousands of temporary visa holders like foreign students, backpackers and asylum seekers rorting the system and not following the immigration visa rules. And it’s costing Australia billions of dollars! These are just some examples: Illegals need welfare - increasing government costs. Illegals pay little or no tax - reducing government revenue. Illegals occupy houses and units - worsening the housing problem. Illegals use the health system - placing more pressure on doctors and public hospitals. Illegals abuse the justice system - using taxpayer lawyers to stay in Australia indefinitely after losing court cases. While the elites including the media and noisy minorities scream racism and xenophobia to try and silence us, most Australians know that illegal immigration has become a profitable business for vested interests. Lawyers, property developers, politicians, dodgy employers, people smugglers and any one who can make a buck out of illegals staying here strongly support illegal immigration. The bottom line is this: Australian working families trying to pay the bills and put food on the table for themselves and their children miss out. It’s not right. It’s unfair. And it’s got to stop! Moving forward, the Australian Government must close the loopholes and deport all illegals both in the government detention centres and in the community. The Australian Government must also cut all taxpayer dollars to any groups, organisations and individuals that rely on government funding to promote, protect and support illegal immigration. By stopping taxpayer dollars being abused the vested interests will lose out. And the billions of dollars saved in illegal immigration can be spent in Australia for Australians such as the military vet who suffers health issues after serving his or her country, the farmer battling drought and the mums or dads stressing over mortgage/rental affordability. It’s never too late to fix a broken system that rewards illegals at the expense of the Australian community. Let’s use this pandemic to change our ways and put the needs of Australians ahead of every one else. It’s common sense and the right thing to do. Kind regards Steve Mav Independent
25.01.2022 ANOTHER FOREIGN STUDENT RORT? 25.01.2022 DIVORCE: it’s time for Australia to bust up with China. Ten reasons why: 1 China is recruiting politicians in Australia as spies. 2 China is sending dirty money to Australia to buy agricultural land and farms. 3 China is targeting Australia in daily cyber-attacks to cripple IT services for businesses, government agencies and hospitals. ... 4 China is using chinese citizens in Australia to corrupt our universities. 5 China is flooding Australia with drugs. 6 China is building artificial military bases in international waters to fight us in future. 7 China arrests Australians living in China arbitrarily and tortures them in prison. 8 China hates Australia being independent and free. 9 China is bribing business leaders in Australia. 10 China is spreading communism and hates Australian democracy. 24.01.2022 COVID-19 VACCINATION: I SUPPORT CHOICE I have signed the petition being sent to the Australian Parliament House (see link below) for the reasons outlined in the petition as follows (re-printed): PETITION REASON... We want the Government to confirm that there will be no restrictions placed on citizens or residents who refuse a COVID-19 vaccination. This includes restrictions on travel, right to re-enter the country, social events such as concerts or sports, and access to shops, restaurants, bars, clubs, etc. We believe that such a move would be against our human rights as outlined in the UNESCO Bioethics & Human Rights 2005, as well as Australian Rules on Consent to Medical Treatment and the Ethical Standards of Helsinki. Consent should be voluntary and informed. PETITION REQUEST We therefore ask the House to consider the legality of imposing any restrictions on the citizens and residents of Australia should they chose not to have a COVID vaccination, and to endorse this petition by confirming that this will not happen. We also ask the House to agree to provide advice to all business operating within Australia or in partnership with Australia that they should also not impose any such restrictions on our right to travel, re-enter the country, access social events, such as concerts or sports, and should not restrict access to shops, restaurants, bars, clubs, etc. Any decision to be vaccinated should be voluntary and informed. https://www.aph.gov.au/petition_list
23.01.2022 OPEN LETTER: AUSTRALIA NEEDS THE DEATH PENALTY FOR CHILD RAPE Dear Mav supporter, We need the death penalty to become part of the Australian justice system again. ... The silent majority of Australians are sick and tired of our justice system letting pedophiles and sex predators target kids and getting away with it. It’s a simple question: do we want to apply the death sentence on those who rape kids? This week’s news that another pedophile network in Australia has been broken up is a good outcome but it’s not enough. Sick people targeting kids won’t stop unless they realise that their life depends on it. The death penalty works in many countries. Over half the world’s population live in a country where the death penalty applies for the most heinous and evil crimes. Australia needs to lead the way with western countries who have gotten rid of the death penalty. We need a full reversal! It’s been 53 years since the last man was sentenced to death in Australia. In 1967 there was nothing called DNA evidence, there was no internet and other high tech tools that allow child rapists to be easily identified and convicted based on the evidence. And to paint the picture clearer: we have pedophiles who film the sick things they do to kids! Japan and Singapore are two rich and developed countries like Australia that allow the death penalty as part of their justice system. Australia can follow and adopt similar high standards to impose the death penalty for child rape. It’s not a question of whether the politicians want it, it’s about what the people want in a free democracy! And I’ll tell you how this can be done - All Australians can vote on having the death penalty back. A national referendum to permit the death penalty - as part of the Australian Constitution - would bypass politicians trying to block it. If a majority of Australians say yes in a national referendum, it becomes Australian law (it’s irrelevant what the United Nations or another country may think about it). I will go to the next Federal election - seeking to become a Senator for Tasmania - promising to introduce legislation to allow the Australian people to vote on the death penalty in a National Referendum. If 99% of politicians (Liberal, Labor, Greens etc) think I am so out-of-touch with community views, they have nothing to fear letting the people vote on it. But I know that a majority of Australians share my views. It’s time to get tough on child rapists. It’s time to protect kids. It’s time for the death penalty to return. Kind regards Steve Mav

19.01.2022 OPEN LETTER: FROM A MAV BATTLER Hi Steve, I’m just a little guy and I’m worried about our country. There’s too much corruption at the top and our politicians are out-of-touch. With massive population growth over the past 20 years because of immigration, lack of job options and the overwhelming and growing sense of hopelessness, it leaves people little recourse than to resort to drugs to numb the fear, depression and emptiness. ... If you go on seek.com.au and check job availability, not just unskilled jobs but all of them, then put that next to the unemployed population, there is like 1 job to every 200 or so people. And even if you get a job it’s still tough. Menulog, uber and other services like these create the APPEARANCE of job opportunity but it's just perpetuating low income work, even pushing wages down, and forcing people to, metaphorically speaking, prostitute themselves at almost a loss. I have solutions though Steve. Though no politician besides perhaps you would even entertain the idea. You're a rarity mate. When we get you in, perhaps we, the people at the bottom, might actually get a fair go.

18.01.2022 A large majority of firms across the Asia-Pacific region are actively looking to reduce their supply-chain reliance on China, a Westpac report has found. The latest Asia-Pacific CEO survey conducted by the bank’s institutional arm found a number of large corporations in the region had or are planning to bring manufacturing back to domestic operations in order to minimise sourcing risks. Surveying 113 chief executives, the report found two-thirds of firms experienced signifi...cant supply disruptions during the coronavirus pandemic, and more than half have decided to manufacture onshore. Over half (57 per cent) of firms in the survey have begun to onshore supply and/or manufacturing , in order to secure their supply, and more (63 per cent) expect to continue in this direction in the future, the Westpac survey said. Many CEOs are likely to see such measures as helping to reduce supply dependence on China. The reduction in supply risk coincides with a dramatic breakdown in trade relations between Australia and China, which has hit major exporters within sectors such as agriculture and resources . Last Friday the souring relationship lurched into the spotlight again when Chinese authorities slapped Australian winemakers with import tariffs of up to 200 per cent. The Chinese government claims Australian winemakers have been illegally dumping wine into the Chinese market, lowering prices. The fallout has already had a material impact on Australia’s largest wine producer, Treasury Wine Estates, which on Friday saw its share price tumble by about 11.25 per cent to $9.25 before the company went into a trading halt. Westpac executive Anthony Miller said the increasing shift to onshore manufacturing presented an opportunity to reinvigorate the economy’s domestic manufacturing sector. We’re going to see a focus on smart manufacturing, which will create jobs particularly high skilled opportunities and it’s going to see us build capability in areas where we can be very competitive on an international scale. The Australian newspaper (30.11.20)
18.01.2022 OPEN LETTER: MAV, LAMBIE AND HANSON Dear Mav Supporter, Since I announced this week the formation of my own political party - STEVE MAV TEAM - I’ve received messages asking me if I will follow the Jacqui Lambie Network and Pauline Hanson’s One Nation Party? ... My decision making approach compared to Jacqui and Pauline (who I both respect) is different. Firstly I don’t want to have a national following like both of them do. They are both media stars in their own right. For example, Jacqui and Pauline - with around 343000 Facebook followers each - have most of their online supporters living outside their home state. In Jacqui’s case around 95% don’t live in Tasmania. On the other hand, I have 21000 Mav followers on Facebook and most of my FB supporters are Tasmanians. Secondly, while I understand (but strongly disagree) on Jacqui’s decision to vote against the Migration Amendment (Prohibiting Items in Immigration Detention Facilities) Bill 2020, it’s important to respect Jacqui (and Pauline). Jacqui says that 96% or around 100000 responses on her Facebook Page was to support the illegal immigrants (while Pauline formed the opposite view). I want to be clear: I don’t support illegal immigration and don’t support illegals obtaining special benefits under ANY circumstances (including mobiles in detention centres). I want to let everyone know - Mav friend and Mav foe - that I could never vote with the Crazy Greens or let outsiders influence my vote. As a Senator for Tasmania I will fight for my State and Country by listening to Mav supporters who elected me (not outsiders). I will not be doing it any other way. Warm regards, Steve
18.01.2022 KANGAROO COURT: Before any allegations are heard by a judge, the Defence Department has begun to sack innocent soldiers who have served our country. Why does the Chief of Defence Angus Campbell want to sack soldiers right now? Why terminate anybody when the office of the special investigator - has yet to be filled?... In Canberra today, Chief of Army Rick Burr refused to answer basic questions about why frontline soldiers/SAS were being targeted but senior defence leadership were being protected by the Defence Department. This was part of his pathetic press conference: At this time, 13 individuals have been issued administrative action notices in relation to the Afghanistan inquiry. Administrative action includes receiving a notice proposing to terminate the individual’s service. The individual then has the opportunity to respond within a minimum of 14 days. The decision maker must consider any written response that the individuals provide before making a decision. Each matter and individual circumstance will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Shame on the Defence Department for ASSASSINATING the character and reputation of innocent soldiers before a court of law has heard of any allegations against anyone. This is TREASON and unaustralian
17.01.2022 JUST FIX THE DOOR GUN! Defence officials have told Senate estimates the door on the army’s $3.8bn MRH-90 Taipan helicopters is too narrow to allow its gun to fire while troops are rappelling from the aircraft. Officials said the department had tried three different designs of the gun mount for the European-designed helicopter which was purchased as a fully-capable helicopter but none would allow soldiers to exit the aircraft while it was delivering suppressing fire.... It is not an issue of the gun mount design. It is an issue of the width of the door, Defence’s helicopter capability and sustainment head Shane Fairweather said. The door isn’t wide enough to enable the safe exit while firing is taking place. Australia has a a fleet of 47 MRH-90 helicopters. The Senate’s foreign affairs and defence committee heard tactical workarounds had been developed, in which a second helicopter would cover a helicopter with rappelling soldiers. Chief of Defence Angus Campbell defended the MRH-90 as an extraordinary helicopter which would not be flown alone. You are quite right there is an issue with the door gun. We know it, we are working on it, he said. But he said the tactical effect of delivering troops to the ground while laying down suppressing fire could still be achieved. It requires a careful planning of the employment of our aircraft. We never fly an aircraft on its own. Chief of navy Mike Noonan told Senate Estimates the cargo hook on the navy’s MRH-90 had also been an ongoing problem, but a solution was expected soon. Senate estimates heard the navy’s MRH-90 helicopters were set to be replaced just three years after reaching final operating capability, as the service looks to procure a single helicopter to perform different roles. Mr Fairweather said the MRH-90s were highly advanced but had a number of issues around maintainability, technical response, (and) supply chain surety. Australia was the fleet leader by some way, which is not where we intended to be, he said. So we have hit all the problems for the first time, around the airframe. The Australian (27.10.20)

17.01.2022 OPEN LETTER: EXPEL THE CHINESE AMBASSADOR Dear Mav Supporter, Australia needs to retaliate forcefully against the Chinese Government spreading on twitter a fake picture of an Australian soldier committing a war crime. ... The sickening picture shows an Australian soldier holding a knife to a child’s throat in Afghanistan. China has admitted the picture is FAKE but is refusing to take it down. We need to expel from Australia the Chinese Ambassador Cheng Jingye (left pic) and have our Ambassador to China Graham Fletcher (right pic) come home. We need to fight fire with fire. 11.01.2022 Why does #DirtyDan think he’s qualified to provide medical advice? Dan Andrews is no doctor but a career politician (that’s the only paid job he’s ever had). 11.01.2022 The Morrison government is under pressure to provide financial support to Western private bidders, after debt-laden Digicel said it had received unsolicited approaches for its Pacific operations that include Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Tonga, Vanuatu and Samoa. Digicel is in financial distress and is suffering cash flow shortages as mobile phone traffic plunges in the tourist-dependent Pacific region during COVID-19. The telco owes about $US700 million of secured debt to bondhold...ers that it needs to repay by mid-2022. Digicel's representatives have told private equity firms that Chinese entities suspected to include China Mobile, Huawei and ZTE have expressed interest in buying the strategically important assets. The Australian Financial Review understands Morrison government ministers and national security officials have discussed the matter, including options to possibly provide financial backing to private bidders from friendly nations. Potential assistance options include subsidised loans, loan guarantees, underwriting currency risk or becoming a joint venture equity partner. If the federal government did not act quickly to help secure Digicel's Pacific business, Scott Morrison's "Pacific Step-up" to counter China in the region risked being caught "asleep at the wheel", a source said. "If China ends up buying it, they will hear and see everything," the source said. "You can have all the foreign aid and build all the bridges you want in the Pacific, but if China has the telecommunications network it's game over. "It will be so embarrassing because they will have 80 per cent of the [mobile] telecommunications network in PNG and half the telecommunications in places like Fiji, Vanuatu and Samoa." A buyer of Digicel's assets would not only control its 3G mobile phone networks but could also tap into undersea cables and could access data from financial services institutions in the region. Fergus Hanson, director of the International Cyber Policy Centre at the Australian Strategic Policy Institute, said China was typically willing to pay a premium for these types of assets. "There is an espionage risk on the elites of those countries if China controls the telecommunications infrastructure of countries that are really important to Australia and that have low levels of cyber security capability," he said. "Longer term moving into the 5G era when those networks are providing much more than telecommunications, you can shut down an entire society in extreme circumstances. 10.01.2022 OPEN LETTER: PM MUST SACK DEFENCE FORCE CHIEF Dear Mav supporter, Great news! ... The Prime Minister intervened today to stop that turkey running our defence force - General Angus Campbell - from using his military powers to strip the citations from 3000 special forces veterans. The Prime Minister said he would be taking over and advising the Governor-General instead of letting that useless general make the decision. Angus Campbell clearly isn’t up to the job. How can the defence force chief blindly accept 143 recommendations from a politically motivated government report that attacks our soldiers/heroes? If this bloke cared about his troops - rather than trying to please our foreign enemies - he would have shut his mouth, read the report and thought about each recommendation carefully. But instead he decided (within hours of the report becoming public) to throw under the bus 3000 veterans to please noisy minorities and haters of Australia. I say this to him: your time is up General Campbell. Too much time driving desks in Canberra has made you forget that it is not your Australian defence force but OURS. Prime Minister thanks for listening to me and millions of Australians. Take the next step and get rid of this general who has embarrassed our country and humiliated our soldiers/heroes. 10.01.2022 IS THIS FAIR FOR HARD-WORKING AUSSIES? Hi Steve, with this whole covid thing, people lost jobs and got jobkeeper, that makes sense, career unemployed people getting more money for drugs and alcohol? That makes no sense. I just recently found out that junkies have discovered that they can get a covid check payment of I think about $400. So they fill out an online form that requires little to no evidence, and get the payment meant to supplement workers who have to isolate fo...r up to 14 days while they await their results. Not only is the idea of drug addicts getting more free money than working people get a nasty joke, but all this extra cash the drug addicts are getting is going to lead to MASSIVE increases in crime when these payments are stopped due to their increased intake - like Fentanyl from China - thanks largely to this stupid money. My partner worked at Woolworths all through the covid lockdowns, and was getting paid about 2/3 of what someone who was a career bum was getting paid to get wasted. It's nonsense, and the 'unfairness' of it, as previously mentioned, is only part of the problem, Mav supporter.
08.01.2022 UK COUSINS: WELL DONE SPECIAL FORCES! Seven illegal migrants seeking to enter Britain have been detained in a dramatic commando raid on board a Liberian-registered oil tanker off the Isle of Wight, following a major incident. Special Boat Services and Marine Counter Terrorism units were deployed to resolve the 10 hour standoff and rescue besieged crew, who had locked themselves in a secure room’’ for protection from the stowaways, who had become violent.... The flash to bang’’ operation involved the highly skilled military units being helicoptered on top of the 223m oil tanker Nave Andromeda under the cover of darkness shortly before 8pm local time (6am AEDT). It was reported that seven people were detained and that all of the crew was accounted for. The crew made a Mayday call at 9am on Sunday BST (7pm Sunday AEDT) as the oil tanker Nave Andromeda carrying 42,000 tons of crude oil approached Southampton to dock after a two week passage from Lagos, Nigeria. The Ministry of Defence tweeted that the operation was authorised by the Defence Secretary and the Home Secretary in response to a threat of suspected hijacking. The tweet said: In response to a police request, the Defence Secretary and Home Secretary authorised Armed Forces personnel to board a ship in the English Channel to safeguard life and secure a ship that was subject to suspected hijacking. Armed forces have gained control of the ship and seven individuals have been detained. Police investigations will now continue. Initial reports confirm the crew are safe and well.’’ The Australian (26.10.20)
08.01.2022 GOOD OUTCOME: I SUPPORT FURTHER BANS ON CHINESE COMPANIES INVESTING IN AUSTRALIA A nearly $300 million acquisition of major building contractor Probuild has fallen through, after Treasurer Josh Frydenberg said he would reject China State Construction Engineering Corporation's bid. The state-owned Chinese company withdrew its offer after Mr Frydenberg declared the transaction a risk to national security and contrary to Australia's interest, on the grounds that Probuild was a... significant player in a sector that was critical to the country's economic and social wellbeing. Rejection of the deal, after eight months' consideration by the Foreign Investment Review Board, will further inflame a relationship between Australia and China that has already been stretched paper-thin as Beijing has targeted of barley, beef, wine and coal, as well as other exports including lobster and copper, after criticising the country's early call for an international inquiry into the origins of the coronavirus pandemic. Last month Australia launched action in the World Trade Organisation over China's punitive tariffs on barley. The Australian Financial Review (12.01.21)

08.01.2022 I AGREE with this mum.....we’ve got to change the law to protect kids. The news that another pedophile ring in Australia has been broken up is the tip of the iceberg! People will keep doing these heinous and evil crimes unless the law gets tough and there are SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES for child sex offenders. I’m on the public record as supporting mandatory sentencing for all child sex crimes as a MINIMUM. I also support capital punishment (death penalty) for the most serious cases. Evil against kids is a life sentence for the kids - they’re the real victims!
08.01.2022 WHAT DO YOU THINK? The Chinese signage of the new shop in Launceston - translated - says: S.H Express Shop. Australia China express mail home purchasing agent. 08.01.2022 A MESSAGE TO AUSTRALIA’S POLITICIANS Before you judge the ADF and SASR. A few questions for you:... Have you worn the uniform and fought in a war? Do you actually know what is done and how it’s done? Whilst I do not condone the killing of innocents you have not been in their shoes. Let me explain. The Taliban (the terrorists) wear no uniform and the farmers (enemy supporters) act your friend, hide the terrorists and tell them every detail of our forces once our military people leave. The enemy and their supporters carry weapons you cannot see until it’s too late. SASR has been sent to do a tough job (by you the politicians) others will not. SASR is dealing with difficult situations as it’s a war. And they are still over there dealing with the enemy. Support the ADF and SASR for the freedom you and all of us have enjoyed during and after every war! Period.
07.01.2022 OPEN LETTER: RESIGN ANGUS CAMPBELL Dear General Campbell, Your leadership as Chief of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) is untenable. You must resign to restore trust and confidence in defence military leadership. ... Persecuting and trying to sack frontline soldiers/SAS for unproven and untested allegations is dangerous to the rule of law and the morale of our soldiers. In Australia everyone is innocent unless a court of law proves his or her guilt. It’s a fundamental part of our legal system. Every Australian - including our hero soldiers - is innocent until a judge says otherwise. But you and your generals are trashing this sacred right and trying to sack soldiers before they’ve had the opportunity to defend themselves in court. Why are you trying to sack right now 13 soldiers before a special investigator has been appointed? Of the 26000 soldiers who have served our country in that terrorist haven of Afghanistan - only 25 are under any investigation - for potentially breaking the rules (only a court of law can make such a finding). Why don’t you release the names of the thousands of terrorists that our soldiers/SAS heroes have lawfully killed since the war started almost 20 years ago? Our heroes have been protecting Australia but that apparently means nothing now given this kangaroo court process that you support. The Defence Department - under your leadership - doesn’t care about natural justice, due process, procedural fairness and equality before the law. These legal rights mean nothing to the upper echelons of political/military power in corrupt Canberra. But ordinary Australians care and are outraged! You may think you can get away with it but I assure you people like me will investigate your actions in future. If I’m elected to the Australian Senate at the next election, I will pursue any corruption in the Defence Department. I will never forget what the military leadership is doing against our heroes. You won’t be allowed to crucify our soldiers/SAS who have fought for this country. Their service is too precious. We owe it to those who have given the ultimate sacrifice to hold everyone involved in this persecution - against our heroes - accountable. You included! Sincerely, Steve Mav Independent for Tasmania
07.01.2022 This sums it up....the pain and suffering our service men and women experience serving Australia....
06.01.2022 OPEN LETTER: STEVE MAV TEAM Dear Mav supporter, Word on the street is that the Prime Minister will be calling an early federal election in 12 months time. As a result, I need to start preparing for a Tasmania-wide political campaign. I’ll be doorknocking and waving again across our beautiful State. ... Today I took the first step and chose the name of my political party: STEVE MAV TEAM. Over the next few months I’ll be asking Mav supporters in my home state - and across Australia - to join my political party to enable registration with the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC). As long as you’re an Australian citizen (18 years+) - and support our vision - you’ll be able to join for free. I will need at least 500 members to register my party with the AEC. I need my own party because the senate voting system discriminates against Independents like me and dumps us at the bottom. By establishing my own political party - like Jacqui Lambie and Pauline Hanson - I’ll be at the top of the half a metre voting paper - next to Liberal and Labor - to get the necessary preferences needed to beat the crazy greens. Another advantage is that Senator Jacqui Lambie is not up for re-election so her supporters can vote for me (and I’ll be able to get Senator Pauline Hanson’s supporters in Tasmania too). I’m confident - but not cocky - that next time I’ll be in a very strong position to get elected a Senator for Tasmania. Even at the last federal election - I still received the highest Number 1 votes in the bottom ungrouped column not just in Tasmania but Australia! I want to serve our State and Country to create lots of jobs, improve our health system and to push back against communist China. Thanks again for your ongoing support. It means everything to me. Warmly yours, Steve
05.01.2022 GREAT RESULT! Australia doesn’t need DIRTY Chinese money. Australian superannuation funds, the federal government’s future fund and many other Australian companies and investment bodies can invest in our country’s natural resources industries. We need to stop Chinese state owned (Communist) companies buying Australian assets. #NoDirtyChinaMoney Below article in the Australian newspaper today - Woodside Petroleum said potential Chinese buyers pulled out of a deal to acquire ...Continue reading
03.01.2022 OPEN LETTER: FAT CAT EX-POLITICIANS Dear Mav supporter, Do you know who this ex-politician is? I won’t name him but he’s typical of many who are receiving a pension-for-life while living it up courtesy of the Australian taxpayer. ... Australia has too many ex-politicians living off parliamentary pensions costing us hundreds of millions of dollars a year. It’s time to abolish all their retirement entitlements (except normal superannuation which everybody gets). Ex-politicians should be banned being lobbyists to government departments . Ex-politicians should not be eligible to being appointed to other government jobs for at least a minimum of five years. It’s basic - if you have had the privilege of representing the voters in Parliament (as an MP), you mustn’t be allowed to profit from the taxpayer after you’ve left the job. Unconfirmed news reports that the ex-Premier of Tasmania is about to be appointed ambassador to an Australian embassy overseas raises serious ethical issues. If it’s true it will send the wrong message to the general public. It may not be illegal but it doesn’t pass the pub test. People already have a low opinion of most politicians. And ex-politicians being appointed to half a million dollar government jobs (after retirement) further undermines trust in the political process. I hope Will Hodgman doesn’t accept a government job. I hope he does what he preached in government - to encourage people to go into small business and to be part of the private sector creating jobs in Tasmania. But my message applies to all ex-politicians. Don’t live off the taxpayer. Support yourselves and work hard in the private sector without expecting to receive any public money in retirement. Kind regards Steve Mav
03.01.2022 The Australian defence department has been warned Xi Jinping’s administration is highly likely to attempt to take over Taiwan using all means short of war as early as 2024. Linda Jakobson, a specialist on the fraught Taiwan Straits situation , delivered that assessment in a report handed to the Morrison government last May, weeks after the China-Australian relationship plunged to historic lows following Foreign Minister Marise Payne’s call without forewarning Beijing ...Continue reading
03.01.2022 UNAUSTRALIAN: I WILL BE BOYCOTTING CHEER CHEESE It’s official. The foreign owners of Coon Cheese have given into the noisy minority groups and cancel culture.... After 85 years, Coon cheese will be known as Cheer cheese from July. It was originally named Coon after its founder, Edward William Coon, who died in 1934. The company said it decided to retire the longstanding Coon name as the Black Lives Matter movement made its way around the globe.
02.01.2022 WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THE ABC? Today a second ABC journalist was caught out promoting green lies on her twitter account. She was bashing a proposal to impose an 8pm curfew for kids aged 14 and under in Townsville and Cairns (where pedophiles roam the night looking to pick up Aboriginal kids). The ABC journo sided with the greenies attacking another political party. This bias is unacceptable and breaches the ABC Charter rules (I know as I previously represented Tasmania... on the National Advisory Council). The ABC is suppose to report the news and not be an extension of the crazy greens propaganda machine! It’s time the Australian taxpayer questioned whether we should keep giving $1 billion dollars a year to a pro-greenie public broadcaster.
02.01.2022 GREAT NEWS FOR SMALL BUSINESSES! Suppliers will have new avenues to deal with disputes over prices, shelf space and trading terms after Woolworths and Aldi appointed independent arbiters under the Food and Grocery Code of Conduct. Woolworths has appointed Helen McKenzie and Aldi has appointed Bronwyn Gallacher to the newly created roles, which were one of the major changes recommended by former Australian Competition and Consumer Commission chairman Graeme Samuel in a review...Continue reading
