22.01.2022 The Rebalance Training Story Rebalance Training was launched in 2019 by Amy Salmon in Leeton, New South Wales. Amy has held many professional roles throughout her career including counsellor, case manager, trainer, teacher, supervisor and manager but a common theme has been her passion for training and developing the skills of others. Amy is a social worker by profession having completed her undergraduate studies in 2006 and later a Masters in Social Work (Forensic Studies...) in 2015. After completing her studies she worked as a counsellor and case manager in the drug and alcohol and mental health sectors, providing counselling to individuals experiencing a range of complex problems including substance use, mental illness, homelessness, offending behaviours, cognitive impairment and relationship problems. Amy has seen first hand how powerful non-professionals could be in their interactions with those who were experiencing psychological distress. She is extremely passionate about providing community members and businesses with the skills and knowledge to better support family, friends, colleagues and peer who need assistance. Amy brings her passion and experience to every training session she provides to make sure that each and every participant walks away knowing that their time was well spent. Rebalance Training provides a range of training options to organisations and the public including Mental Health First Aid, Accidental Counselling, Mental Health First Aid for Non-Suicidal Self-Injury, Mental Health First Aid for Gambling Problems, Addiction Awareness (for significant others) and Addiction Awareness (for workplaces). Many of these programs are able to be adapted to the needs of your organisation. Amy Salmon is also available for one-on-one consultations, supervision, debriefing and mentoring. Please contact her via Rebalance Training to discuss your individual needs.

17.01.2022 As anxiety again begins to increase in our communities I just wanted to take this opportunity to remind everyone of Rebalance Trainings online Caring About Self Care Course. You can check out this course at https://coursecraft.net/courses/z91YZ

16.01.2022 This is a great cause. Get a team together (or sign up as an individual) and put one foot forward for mental health this October!

15.01.2022 Sometimes those who are struggling are unable to reach out for help. Instead, we need others to reach out to them. If you are worried about someone, let them know and offer to support them to get help. If you or someone you know is struggling you can contact lifeline on 13 11 14 or beyond blue on 1300 224 636.

15.01.2022 If you see someone struggling... check in. Its hard to reach out but its so easy to reach in.

12.01.2022 Tell us what you see...

12.01.2022 Panic attacks are often a terrifying experience for those experiencing them. And loved ones often feel a sense of helplessness. If you've experienced panic attacks tell us in the comments: what you would like your loved ones to do to support you during an attack?

09.01.2022 This reminder is timely

09.01.2022 Many of us (me included) feel our anxiety increasing due to the many changes happening in our world right now. This makes it the perfect time to do a bit of a refresher around self care and to develop a plan to make sure we are reducing stress and looking after our own wellbeing. If you are not sure where to start, or need a bit of a helping hand, this online course might just be what you are looking for.

06.01.2022 Boundaries... they are so easy to talk about yet can be so hard to put in place.

06.01.2022 Im going to do this. Anyone else love the idea?

05.01.2022 Each year over 3000 Australians end their lives by suicide. Each year at least another 65000 Australians attempt suicide. That is almost 70000 brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, husbands, wives, mothers or fathers. If we want to reduce this number we need to do more in community. We need to start the conversations that can save lives. We need to know the signs and reach out. I believe that together we can make a difference!

04.01.2022 Today is R U OK? day. Its a reminder to check in in those around you and start a conversation about mental health.

04.01.2022 I have seen a lot of posts on Facebook recently making claims about the suicide rate for 2020 being significantly higher than for other years. While even 1 suicide is too many I am glad to see state coroners starting to correct this misinformation. 2020, and everything it has bought with it, has definitely been challenging for many people. There is a need for more mental health support. However, the spread of misinformation rarely helps to raise awareness or break down stigma, both of which are essential to improving mental health within our communities.

02.01.2022 Burnout Just one of the reasons I advocate so strongly for self care!
