10.01.2022 Criminal check changes From 1 July 2018, the agency undertaking the criminal history checks will require the Business Licensing Authority (BLA) to verify the identity of applicants as well as checking that documents have been correctly certified. The types and numbers of certified documents will also change. This means for applicants and people added to existing estate agents licences, the BLA will require the submission of four documents, certified as being true copies of the original documents. At least one of those four documents must contain a photograph, which has been additionally certified as being a true likeness of the person requesting the certification. Full details will be in the consent form available from 1 July.
