23.01.2022 These posts and images are a selection of prints taken over the past decade or so. They are simple iPhone snaps of the original mostly silver gelatin prints. Photography is a tangible record of a time, of a space, of a people. These images are archival prints that will last for a few hundred years at least. Whilst digital is cleaner, quicker, neater, easier ... will the images remain in the historical record? That is the question.

19.01.2022 No it isn't fair that all of my photographer friends don't have an amazingly talented and patient father (though somewhat occasionally grumpy) to renovate a 115 year old shed and transform it into the most incredible studio and space! Thank goodness he only had a heart attack when he had completed it! Thanks Kevy Baby! At least your heart is a lot stronger from the surgery! And you can now run longer and faster. A blessing in disguise! LOL. In all seriousness ... you are legendary Granks and thank you from the bottom of my heart! X Bex

18.01.2022 Part of my recent series "Still Lives" Myanmar, September 2014. Myanmar has the poorest healthcare system in the world. It ranks the lowest health spend as a percentage of GDP. A mere $18 USD per person per year is spent on health compared to over $6000 in Australia. HIV has been left mostly untreated and hence it has developed into AIDS resulting in the death of over 10,000 per year compared to almost zero in Australia. Whilst the world has come along way in recent years ...to combat and control HIV, Myanmar's decades of dictatorial military rule has failed it's people. Foreign aid is only now flowing in due to the new nominally civilian government. For many of these patients though, it is a case of too little too late. The warmth and humility of the patients at the NLD HIV & AIDS Centre in South Dagon will remain forever in my heart. In the words of Don McCullin: "Photography for me is not looking, it's feeling. If you can't feel what you're looking at, then you're never going to get others to feel anything when they look at your pictures." Thant Zaw Htat, 30 years, 8 years HIV+
