24.01.2022 This mornings set up for my online Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course. It’s been an interesting journey doing this completely online for the last 7 weeks; from dongas in the Pilbara, in my bedroom, my mums lounge room and other rooms in my house where I could create a quiet nook. Last weekend was a full weekend of mindfulness complete with an online silent retreat all from the confines of my bedroom. It’s important for me to create a space that is nurturing and attends to all my senses. I couldn’t decide what oil to diffuse this morning so drew a card from a cute deck I have that recommends oils to use and a supporting affirmation. These interesting times are a great opportunity to try new things, see the world through a different lens and more important than ever, attend to your wellbeing.
22.01.2022 Eye spy with my lil eyes Some completely adorable WOWLY eye balls. For my WOWLY meditation eye pillows. There’ll be some stitchin & bitchin going on while we sew them onto their owl face pillows BUT when they’re all done we’ll be grinnin from eyeball to eyeball
19.01.2022 The afterglow of a Yin Yoga and Sound session. That 5 minute space of silence, stillness and surrender is truly magical before the final bells chime to let participants know the session has concluded. Creating space and stillness in your life has a profound impact on your wellbeing. For me, it’s been a game changer, it’s a privilege and honour to share this beautiful practice with those who trust me to hold space.

11.01.2022 Feeding my heart, spirit and belly. Working away can be a double edged sword. When I’m away I crave the lush green landscape of home, preparing my own soul food and all that home life brings. Carving time out to do the things you love is so important. What do you love to do to fill your cup?
11.01.2022 One of the best gifts you can give yourself is time. Time to step away from the busyness of life, time to be fully present and time to slow down. We’re on retreat this weekend at Gilgara Retreat collaborating with RedRock Fitness. I’m really looking forward to holding space for the amazing ladies on retreat with some yummy yin and soulful sounds. And how adorable do the WOWLY eye pillows look!... It’s their debut retreat appearance Thanks Mum Gillian Ramsay for your help with seeing them and for sewing ALL their big beautiful eyes on
11.01.2022 Friday feels This message sums up self care beautifully: Spend time in nature Be present ... 10.01.2022 Sunrise over camp this morning was a spectacular sight to see. I’ve been a little quiet lately, for which I make no apology I hadn’t been feeling my usual upbeat, energetic self. With COVID I returned to work in mining. My hours are long and my roster was a kind of 4 weeks on 2 weeks off.... I’d spend 2 weeks at 1 camp come out for 3 days go to another camp for 2 weeks then have 10 days off. Managing my fatigue was challenging amid helping people during this time, the uncertainty of our situation and dietary changes, oh the dietary changes were one of the hardest to deal with. I was totally unprepared for them and they were different at each camp. I’m a foodie who loves raw, gourmet, nourishing food. This was in shorter than usual supply. I’d go to get my food for the day and at times wanted to cry. Being vegetarian and a non bread eater, there wasn’t much to choose from. On my most recent swing I really struggled with my energy and focus and intuitively knew something was wrong. On returning home I had tests done which revealed what I suspected an iron and B12 deficiency. Jabs and an infusion later I’m starting to feel my energy levels return to their normal levels. I’m feeling much like this beautiful sun emerging from the sleepy darkness of night. Now the fog has lifted, when I look back I hadn’t been feeling myself for a while. With so much going on, it was hard to pin point if it was circumstantial or something else. When I found myself napping during my lunch breaks, falling asleep during meditation and not being able to focus on simple tasks, I knew it was more than circumstantial. It’s so important to listen to your body, if you’re more fatigued than usual or feel like something isn’t quite right, see your GP and get things checked out. StayWELL
09.01.2022 Fantastic Acuyin workshop with my yoga teacher Jo Phee Yinspiration Yin Yoga tonight. I’m looking forward to completing more of her training programs and bringing this new knowledge to you
06.01.2022 This week I'll be doing myofascial release with yin yoga. This is a lovely blend where you learn to gently massage some of those troublesome tight spots followed by a yin pose for that target area. The benefits of this is you're able to get more from your practice as the muscles loosen their grip. At the end of the session you'll be bathed in a blissful sound bath You'll leave feeling rolled, released and recharged. Bookings essential as places are limited.
04.01.2022 Beautiful venue for tonight’s Yin & Sound Session at The Shala made even more magical with ladies that came along. The theme for tonight’s session was Myofascial Release to target areas followed by Yin Yoga poses. The session concluded with a blissful Sound Meditation. My next session in Margaret River will be Tuesday 4th August. Stay tuned for more details
04.01.2022 It’s been a HUGE week of learning for me this week as I commenced my studies in a Bachelor of Psychology. I’m also doing an 8 week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course with Openground Mindfulness Training as my pre requisite training to become a MBSR facilitator. Already this course is helping me in ways I didn’t expect. I chose to do it online due to my location, current work schedule and convenience. ... While nothing beats face to face learning and development, in these interesting times, it’s wonderful to have online options to keep learning live. See more
04.01.2022 Meet The WOWL Eye Pillow. These cute little guys have been made with love from many hands across the globe. They had to be made from either organic or recycled fabrics. The organic bamboo fabric was sourced from Canada and the recycled yarn came from Istanbul. My friend Wendy Grace Hendry - Marriage Celebrant crocheted the eyes with love (that’s where the W comes from in WOWL) ... Turn the W upside down and you have M for Mum and Me who sourced, cut and sewed these cute little eye pillows. This is a removable cover that has an insert filled with glass beads. I’m going to give the first completed one to my Missus Sunny. As she bought me my original inspirational eye pillow and supports all the crazy things I do They will be making a feature in my classes sometime soon under strict hygienic supervision of use.
