23.01.2022 When I've been door knocking or talking to women, one issue that's come up is the need for a permanent BreastScreen WA clinic at the hospital, to replace the visiting mobile van screening service. Please support my campaign because women shouldn’t have to wait for the mobile BreastScreen WA van to visit Albany to have a screening mammogram. Sign the petition at the link below... https://www.walabor.org.au//build-a-permanent-breast-scre/

17.01.2022 Regional Airfares To Be Capped By a Re-Elected McGowan Government The inconsistent and often extreme prices for regional airfares are a major barrier for people living across WA. So a re-elected McGowan Labor Government will cap regional airfares for residents to and from Perth, right across WA.... Under our plan, fares from locations within 1000km of Perth by road will be capped at $199 one-way. From locations over 1000km away, they will be capped at $299. If we're re-elected we will work with all commercial airlines to make this a reality, with $19.8 million committed to the initiative. We are focused on doing everything we can to ease the burden on regional residents - this plan will make sure that regional West Aussies are able to get to and from Perth when they need to travel at a fair price. It's the right thing to do - and it will help to keep regional WA communities strong.

01.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day My dad Robin Waugh was born in Albany many years ago. Dad left school at the age of 14 to start a painting apprenticeship and to this day runs a successful painting business. Dad was an accomplished sportsman playing many sports and is a life member of Royals Football Club Albany.... I have fond memories of watching him dominating basketball games on the old hot mix courts and footy for his beloved Royals. One of the favourite things we did together as a kid was the Sunday drive. He would pick me up and we would drive around the streets of Albany talking about who lived where and what they did. Dad has certainly slowed down now as he has muscular dystrophy and finds every day tasks challenging. He loves meeting the family at Emu Point on his gofer and giving his four grandchildren a push on the swing. My love and passion for Albany comes from my parents. Dad couldn't understand why I wanted to travel overseas in my teens when we lived in the most AMAZING place in the world. He was right! Thank you for your unconditional love and support Dad - Happy Fathers Day.
