It was a very windy day on Saturday (so please excuse the mess of my hair), as I was on Jindalee Beach in Wanneroo for Amy & Zack to become husband and wife. Despite the howling wind, the day was just gorgeous for these two beautiful people to get married. And to make my day better, I just love seeing men in kilts Zack, his brother Lee, nephew Logan and Zack & Amy’s little boy Chayse were all ...dressed in their kilts, as was Zack’s dad. But I think the part that stole my heart, and everyone else’s, was when their little girl Ava stepped forward to give her daddy a little bunch of flowers. So gorgeous! 22.01.2022 What a chaotic and emotional time it has been for Karen and Jay. They were due to be married in June of this year however they made the decision to postpone to September 2021 due to COVID. Everything was set and since then, they received the exciting news that they were also expecting their first child. ... Then Karen received word that one of her bridesmaids and best friend was gravely ill. It was so important to everyone that Monica be there with them to be a part of Karen and Jay’s special day. So within a matter of only a few weeks, everything was arranged and on Sunday the 27th of December, Karen and Jay became husband and wife with Monica standing by their side with her fellow bridesmaids Megan and Chrystal and groomsmen Shaun and Gavin. Unfortunately, the organisers of the photo shoot had already made arrangements, so I offered to officiate their real wedding instead and I’m so glad I did! 08.01.2022 What better way to see out a challenging year then with 3 weddings! The first saw me at a mid-morning wedding at Rotary Park on The Esplanade in Rockingham. Thankfully, the weather was beautiful for us on the day and what a special ceremony it was. ... Kirsty and Hal were so happy to include their two beautiful children in their ceremony Kaleb and Anika as their ring bearer and flower girl. Kirsty and Hal also wanted to do something very special in memory of their loved ones who are no longer with them, so they made up a ‘memory tag’ for each person who has passed away and handed them to their family members. It was a truly beautiful moment for everyone. 05.01.2022 My 3rd and final New Years Eve wedding saw us at the stunning home of Jacqueline and Jeffery on the canals in Halls Head. 04.01.2022 Ashley and Tyne are another COVID wedding! They were ready for their big day for the 11th of July when everything was shut down. Like everyone else they didn’t know what to do but as it kept progressing, they made the decision to still get married at home in a very casual, simple ceremony. But what made it special for them was having Ashley’s grandparents as their witnesses and her brother Lee there as well. They decided to still have their big day and that day finally ar...rived on Saturday the 7th of November and it was so beautiful. With their little man Jack in their arms, as he really didn’t want to be anywhere else and who could blame him, these two beautiful people finally were able to exchange vows in front of their family and friends. She is even making her own sister submit the 500, 2 part essay, even though she is already spending thousands of $$$ to come home for the wedding and, having to quarantine as well. 01.01.2022 My third and final ceremony for Saturday the 7th November, and WOW, what a way to end the day! Brad and Joann’s daughter Jess contacted me asking if I was free to conduct a vow renewal for her parents 25-year wedding anniversary. Catch was, it was to be a surprise for her Mum Joann. Jess and her Dad Brad visited me and Brad explained that, like a lot of other people around, they had had a tough year with the pandemic so he wanted to do something special for his wife for t...heir anniversary. They had always talked about renewing their vows so he thought, seeing they had organised a party already, now was the best time, but he wanted to surprise Joann. Well of course, I’m always up for a surprise ceremony. So, with great secrecy, we managed to make the arrangements, even down to Brad writing the vows for both of them, which I must say, were very funny. So, Ashlee and I turn up under the assumption that we are the photographers and as I’m gathering their guests around and arranging Brad and Joann under the arch that Jess created for them, I broke the news to Joann that no, I’m not a photographer but a Marriage Celebrant and I was there to conduct their Vow Renewal. The look on Joann’s face was beautiful. She shed a tear, called Brad a name then called me a name, and with a huge smile on her face, these two amazing people renewed their vows. This is why I love being a Celebrant, each and every marriage & vow renewal is just so special. I wish this lovely couple & family a more promising 2021.
