21.01.2022 A great article by New Idea magazine who interviewed me on domestic violence during COVID for 1800RESPECT. There is always help on hand- you are not alone! And I love the practical tips they included. If you or someone you know is impacted by domestic or family violence please reach out to 1800 RESPECT (phone or website). Its free and confidential https://www.1800respect.org.au/ www.rebeccapoulson.com.au

15.01.2022 I am alongside some awesome sisters in the October issue of Marie Claire titled Women Living Fearlessly Around the Globe. I am called VOICE OF CHANGE and it is a call to have victims of domestic violence represented in all discussions about family and domestic violence. Otherwise it feels like a continued silencing and repression of our views and voice- just how it was for me and my fellow 2.2 million women in Australia whilst we lived with our abusive partners. I have been left speechless whilst watching TV panels talk about DV with not one single women who was abused by her partner on the panel. Let us speak now and do not leave our voices unrepresented.

06.01.2022 We know there’s #NoExcuseForAbuse, but do we recognise abuse in all of its forms? How can we better recognise forms non-physical violence, its prevalence, and i...ts seriousness? Following the relaunch of No Excuse For Abuse, our Chair Natasha Stott Despoja and our survivor and survivor-advocate ambassadors Khadija Gbla, Rebecca Poulson and Tarang Chawla convened for an online forum, ‘Recognising Non-Physical Forms of Violence’, hosted by Our Watch ambassador, Tiffany Cherry. As our ambassadors discuss the campaign and generously share their own experiences of non-physical abuse, we are allowed a greater understanding of the true extent of the impacts of non-physical violence, how debilitating patterns of abuse can be, and how non-physical violence can often escalate into physical abuse. For more information on non-physical violence, visit noexcuseforabuse.org.au If you or someone you know is experiencing any kind of abuse, please contact 1800RESPECT. If you are worried about your own behaviour, please contact MensLine Australia, and of course if you, a child, or another person is in immediate danger, please dial 000.
