15.03.2022 Are you returning to sport after a long break due to COVID-19? One of Australia’s top sports experts, Dr Peter Brukner, said it is almost inevitable the injury rates of athletes will increase as sport recommences. We’ve already seen this in the past following the NBA’s 2011-12 lockout, injuries per day increased from 7.3 to 9! Make sure you’re easing back in and building the basics. These simple knee stability exercises can easily be done at home and will help decrease the chances of knee injury. For more information regarding return to sport, feel free to contact us on (07) 3719 5682 or visit reboundphysio.com.au to book online.

01.03.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE We are now offering telehealth physio consultations for those people unable to attend the clinic in light of the coronavirus situation. The concept of an online physio consultation may seem a little different at first. But there is still so much we can offer over a video or phone call to help fix your injury.... Otherwise, we are still open for now and taking all the necessary precautions to ensure the health and safety of our patients who wish to see us at the clinic. A standard 30-45 minute consultation will be charged at $50 and this can be paid over the phone or via EFT. We are able to bulk bill patients through Medicare if they have a care plan from their GP. Similarly, DVA patients with a current GP referral will be covered. There is an online booking feature on our website (https://www.reboundphysio.com.au/Booking) that will enable you to book a telehealth appointment online. Otherwise feel free to contact us on (07) 3719 5682, or via email at [email protected]. Private health funds have also agreed to fund telehealth consultations from the 14th of April. The details are still yet to be finalised, so we are recommending you check with your respective funds prior to making an appointment. We wish everyone the best during these uncertain times. Our thoughts are with everyone and their families. The Rebound Physio Team

16.02.2022 Lateral ankle sprains are one of the most common musculoskeletal injuries, with court sports like basketball and netball being among the highest risk activities (Doherty et al, 2014). Taping has been shown to significantly reduce ankle sprain rates in athletes by more than 50% (British Journal of Sports Med, Vol 24). We have found that the method demonstrated in this video is particularly effective at preventing lateral sprains. This technique limits ankle inversion without restricting normal physiological movement.

30.01.2022 Did you know that knee injuries in teenagers are on the rise? The rate of ACL injuries has increased by 147% from 2005 to 2015 (British Journal of Sports Medicine, 2018). Meanwhile, chronic knee pain affects approximately 25% of adults, impacting function and quality of life (American Family Physician, 2015). To make sure we understand the cause of your knee pain, we conduct a thorough hands-on knee assessment, as well as a functional assessment (not shown here) to identify p...otential risk factors. If you need help with your knee pain, give us a call or book online today!
