12.01.2022 This week I conducted another licencing course. We teach the Glock because it is the most likely semi-auto to be purchased by the new licence holder after the course. For me, I just showed myself two more reasons why I would not buy a Glock. At 25m the gun was shooting 6 inches to the left. Normally if I fire 10 rounds from my M&P or even my old Hi Power I get 10 on target, with this thing I got 1 in the head and 4 in the black on the left, the others obviously went further l...eft. So accuracy is terrible. Second complaint was when teaching single hand phase 2 rectifications. I racked the slide on my holster and took a chunk out of the sights. I've done this drill with other guns and never had this happen. And before you say that is why it shot to the left, I used two different guns. If you want to buy a Glock, feel free, but look at all the other options first. There is much better out there.

11.01.2022 Let’s get one thing straight. Sighting in your weapon is only one aspect of a much larger equation when it comes to overall competency. There are plenty of peo...ple that can sight in their weapon but consistently miss the target because of other factors. Why choose an optic over irons? Some people are physically unable to get a hard focus on their front sight. An optic is a simpler aiming solution. One dot on the target but you do need to account for offset (POA May be different than POI). The primary reason I use an optic for duty is because I have full target discrimination throughout the contact. No need to shift focal plans between target and front sight. Does an optic make me a faster shooter? Long distance it helps, close contact to 15 yards, it makes me slower because my natural point of aim is affected by the sight blocking my perception of the barrels orientation.
