06.01.2022 230kg x 8 is better than 210kg x 14 right? I mean obviously. It must be. Its more weight. Duh! But is it better? Yes its more weight but did you actually perform better? The beauty of a rep calculator is that you can track your performance. It also gives your sets more meaning. Do 3 sets of 8-12. Why? Why wouldn’t I do more if I can? Whats so special about 8-12?... On the other hand 210x14 is a 290kg 1rm. 230x8 is the equivalent to a 284kg 1rm. So your 230kg is actually a worse performance than the 210kg. Had you looked at the rep calculator before you started the set you would have known you needed 10 reps in order to beat the performance set with the 210kg. Knowing that, when you got to 6 and your brain started screaming at you stop, another voice in your head should have kicked in and said, Nah mother fucka, you need 4 more reps. You cant quit now or you’ve gone backwards. Come on you lazy shit, get it done! Find a way! Now does getting a certain calculated max definitively mean you can pick up that weight? Not necessarily. But what it does is give you a number to shoot for and try and beat each set. If that number keeps increasing, then over time you are getting stronger. 06.01.2022 When should I eat my food? How should I space my food? What is the best time to eat before training? What should I have during a workout? What should I eat after I workout? Just eat your food. It makes no difference. Do what ever works for you based on what you’re trying to achieve. So many people are trying to reinvent the wheel and turn something thats really simple into something thats really complicated. All this stuff about not mixing carbs with fats or not eating carb...s when you wake up to stimulate fat burning and not blunt your GH spike and blah blah blah. Just eat your food. It’s more about consistency. I eat about an hour before I train and then 10-30 minutes after depending on how soon I’m seeing a client. Am I concerned about an anabolic window for my post workout meal? No. I’m just really hungry and need to eat. Am I concerned with fast acting carbs or quick absorbing protein after I train? No. Im just really hungry. If you want to eat 3 meals a day because that works for you then do it. If you want to eat 8 meals a day because that works for you then do it. At the end of the day knowing the best way to eat and train is meaningless if you cant stick to a simple diet and your training is so bad you never make any progress. Why make things complicated and difficult? Thats just going to frustrate and confuse you and probably make you quit after a short period of time. Keep it simple. It’s not rocket science.
