25.01.2022 Valentine's day posy just for fun

24.01.2022 Beautiful day out here at Marysville

24.01.2022 New ookArt wearable mini bookroses! They should be water resistant if they're treated right.. Also mini roses on mini pegs - just because!

23.01.2022 Months ago I found this giant Italian map of Italy but couldn't find a home for it so it has now been reinvented as beautiful map roses

23.01.2022 I can never quite remember how long I've been playing with book art but thanks to a memory popping up today on here it seems I first started folding books about a year ago!

21.01.2022 This weekend is the Alexandra Truck Ute & Rod Show. On a related note.. I'll be selling paper roses at the market in Perkins St Alexandra on Saturday 10th June 9am-2pm. Come and see the mechanical wonders and check out the market too! Love to see you there

20.01.2022 Looking for something to do this weekend? Come up to Alexandra for their 150th birthday celebrations across the weekend - checkout their page to see what's on. I will be at the market in Rotary Park from 10 till 3 on Sunday 13th - come and say hello

19.01.2022 First market in a very long time! At the Alexandra Timber Tramway market and enjoying a new display - recycled hardwood rose boxes and a found floral sheet Also loving my wonky pallet Christmas tree! and the scrap metal star decorations Wish you were here

19.01.2022 Spending some time working on my caravan reno, but I'll be back to doing markets and book roses after Easter. I made some of these as an experiment - out of an old calendar, no stems.. Thought they would make a nice bookshelf ornament?

18.01.2022 Bookhogs - love making these little guys and other people seem to like them too! Usually their eyes are handmade (second photo) in line with the recycling theme but thought I'd have some fun with googly eyes

17.01.2022 Thought I had better make sure there is enough stock for Sunday's market. Loving these beautiful creamy coloured ones made from the blank pages in old paperbacks. Also lots more Melways

16.01.2022 Another reason to save old books - they smell good

15.01.2022 Some new roses - Lilo & Stitch storybook (dark blue), 2002 Melways (light blue), and one made from some gold florist's paper I was given wrapped around some flowers years ago

15.01.2022 Anyone can do this - just find a suitably solid old book

15.01.2022 Made up some new cards - what do you think? They are printed on the blank pages from an old book called Stories of Pendennis and the Charterhouse from Thackeray (London 1912), and torn rather than cut to size. Love the aged paper and rough edges. Some even have the gold edging from the top of the book! Definitely limited edition

14.01.2022 Playing with ideas for more things to do with old books.. how about some Melways bunting (for indoor use only!), or mini envelopes for a gift card, tag or note

13.01.2022 Looking forward to spring and getting back to the local markets. Been busy making lots of roses, mini roses on clips and pegs, bookhogs, and some trial flowers looking a little like star anise with pretty button centres

11.01.2022 Thanks Cindy for the mention! Drop in to Rustic Simplicity in the Alexandra main street for some beautiful local art and gifts

11.01.2022 Only 18 days away! Come across to the Mooroopna Recycle Revival on Feb 24 and see what creative recycle-minded folks can do. ookArt will be there of course with book roses and other items. Hope to see you there!!

11.01.2022 Ok this is not book related, but is part of my recycle passion. The xylophone I made for Mooroopna Recycle Revival is now for sale! And I'm starting to collect materials to make another

10.01.2022 Decided to try my hand at something different to use up some of my boxes of old paperbacks and old unwanted books

09.01.2022 ookStand number two. Recycled ply & Reader's Digests. I am absolutely stoked with how this turned out!! This and the other one I made will be for sale at the Alexandra Wood and Craft Show next weekend

05.01.2022 Here is a different type of paper flower. I've seen a few of this style around but in coloured paper. Mine have twigs/sticks as stems. Which do you think look better - twigs with dark bark or driftwood?

05.01.2022 Come to the Ian McLennan centre in Mooroopna for Recycle Revival! All things recycled and repurposed, and the mad noisy Recusical Fobstrument

04.01.2022 Tdy our dogs came up with a new and novel idea for recycling a book - puppy chew toy!!

04.01.2022 Beautiful morning here in Alexandra at the Perkns Steet market. If you're around come for a wander

03.01.2022 Happy Customer!! This man's wife saw my folded books at the Alex Truck Show and loved them, so he rang and asked to buy some as a surprise gift for her. I posted them to Beechworth and.. happy wife, happy life, very happy ookArt Liz
