21.01.2022 The kids all had a wonderful time! A big run in the play yard, gifts to open, and a yummy xmas dinner to enjoy as well. Everyone had bikkies, Chicken drumsticks and a few slices of ham. A huge thank you to everyone who donated gifts, you really made the kids day special.

19.01.2022 We thought everyone would appreciate an up date on our gorgeous boy Rambo. Since being dumped on the side of the road, things have improved for him enormously. He is still here at the shelter, gaining weight, and learning to have an absolute blast! He loves to race around and play, with pretty much anyone who will give him the time of day. Some of the photos are a bit blurry, but he is like a rocket, so it's hard getting him into focus. He will be ready for his new home towards the end of next week, so If he's the kind of boy for you, be sure to pop an application in.

16.01.2022 URGENT FOSTER CARERS NEEDED. We have 3 dogs in desperate need of foster care as they are all so very timid and scared and the thought of putting them into pens at the shelter is heartbreaking. They are currently in the pound but we will be picking them up tomorrow, the Staffy is an adult but small under 20kgs and very nervous and scared at first but once hugged will cuddle up for affection , the two Kelpie x puppies are approx 6 months of age , brother and sister and do not need to be fostered together , again so skinny and scared , in need of love and attention. PLEASE if you think you could help please register your interest by PM to our page and we will be in contact . Please also share for us you just never know someone you know maybe able to help if you can’t .

16.01.2022 RCR like many other rescues are completely swamped with surrenders, our shelter is not only full but overflowing , we cannot take anymore which breaks our hearts, not only because we can’t take anymore but because so many people are just giving up on these gorgeous dogs remember mans best friend please think when taking on a pet and if you can’t look after them for life don’t have a pet in the first place .

15.01.2022 We love all adoptions but especially our big long termers. OLLIE is adopted and wow he is just so happy in his new home with a canine brother (ex RCR) , 2 feline spouses, Mum and dad and even sisters to play with him. His 13 year old hooman sister said this about Ollie, ollie is a very special dog, he loves giving us cuddles when we are sitting down, he thinks he is a lap dog but really he is not. he loves swims, playing fetch with the stick and loves to chew on pine cones b...ut hates chips... overall, ollie is a very patient, quiet, loving dog and we love having him join our family Also a massive thank you to his foster mum and dad who cared for him over the last 6 month Happy life big boy

14.01.2022 We would like to say a massive thank you to Pet Barn Bundaberg for having us in their store with some of our kids yesterday. The staff were amazing and made us all feel so very welcome, and the best news all 5 kids we took spent their first night last night in there forever home. Will post photos soon . 12.01.2022 Our beautiful Bruno has been adopted , it’s been a long hard road for him (over 4 months) as he came in heartworm positive, something that can so easily be avoided by a monthly tablet or yearly injection , heartworm is spread by mosquitoes so is very easy to contract , speak to your vet as the cure is long , painful and expensive. Heartworm can very easily be fatal. Bruno thank goodness is now well and will live a wonderful happy loved life , he was one of the lucky ones. BE HEARTWORM AWARE SEE YOUR VET.

These two are the whole package, amazing friendly, fun , both adorable and would make a beautiful addition to anyone’s family, you will be the lucky ones to have these two beautiful dogs as family members . 11.01.2022 What a wonderful surprise to go to Vet Cross and find so many gifts under the tree for the kids. They are having a fancy xmas lunch tomorrow and each getting to open a gift. Thank you to the entire Vet Cross team for being our wonderful vets for another year. And that lovely friends, Is a wrap for this year! We will still be at the shelter, caring for the dogs, but the phone will be off and the computer will be having a rest. We will still check in daily in case of emergen...cy, (with smartphones, you never really get to stop completely,) but we are going to try to enter 2021 with new energy. Thanks for sticking with us, we don't post as often as we 'should', but the reality is, we are stretched too thin. But we are never idle, and the dogs are always our number one priority. Merry Christmas. And can 2020 see its self out please!

10.01.2022 Such a beautiful adoption to finish the working week, BUDDY is a 5 year old larger breed boy who has found the most loving home. Buddy has not had a very good past few years so we could not be happier for this beautiful boy. Thank you so much to his mum and dad for giving him a chance

10.01.2022 Deejay is a husky cross, but according to him, he's superman. 6 foot fencing won't stop him, so he needs a home where he is indoors, with you, or in a covered enclosure. He's got the looks, he just needs the home.

08.01.2022 As promised photos of our lovely Pet Barn adoptions. 1st was gorgeous Zulu who is going to have the most awesome life, we got to see her again as she came back for a lovely warm hydro bath and went home smelling beautiful. 2nd was little Jacky who had a fun filled fur sister waiting at home to greet him. The decision now will be which bed and with whom they will be in . 3rd was the oh so handsome Hemi, who will be adored , he not only has a human sister (photo) but fur f...amily members as well. 4th was Hero who we have been advised spent yesterday afternoon all cuddled up with Dad on the lounge , bet he is doing the same today. Then was Jess, what a perfect life for her, she will grow up with her gorgeous young family, we have been told Jess settling in well and loves her young family . 07.01.2022 Greyhounds are such lovely big lazy kids. Ideal for older people, or families who don't have a huge yard, these kids are happy to sit on the lounge for most of the day and watch telly with you. Meet Sooty! He's 3 1/2 years old and has retired from racing due to a complete lack of interest in running fast. He's great with other dogs although we haven't tested him with cats, so a home without would be best. His unique face will win the heart of anyone who meets him.

And the clever hands that build many of the amazing items that you see for sale on our auction site. Along with his wife Lyn, Phil works tirelessly to make it possible for us to keep going, and we are truly grateful. We hope you spent some time doing things you find restful, and we hope Lyn spoilt you the way you deserve to be spoilt. We love you for all you do, but most importantly, all you are. Happy 70th!

05.01.2022 Tilk was pretty traumatised when he first arrived, I guess being left without your family after 6 1/2 years will do that to a bloke. But he's finally settled in and is showing us his goofy side. He'd love to find a quiet couple to take him for long walks And have cuddles on the couch.

04.01.2022 Meet Faith. Found on a back road covered in dog bites, she has just come to us from the pound. She has an old break in one leg that was never treated and had lost the use of one eye due to previous trauma. But her nature is so lovely, we can't wait to watch her blossom. She's a horsecoat bone mouth shar pei cross. My favourite!
