11.01.2022 The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) held a memorial service over the weekend for 11 RAAF Catalina A24-25 crew members lost 73 years ago in the waters of the G...reat Barrier Reef south of Cairns. Family members of the crew and senior Air Force personnel attended the service at the Catalina Memorial on the Cairns Esplanade which was opened with a flypast by an AP-3C Orion. The aircraft will remain where it is as a mark of respect to the 11 airmen who were lost. The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority has declared a special management area to protect the memorial site. http://bit.ly/24w8r7k

08.01.2022 I've just come up with a great idea for Townsville.. We will need to do some heavy duty negotiating so let's get Townsville Enterprise, Townsville city Council on board. Santa's Sleigh seems to me to be somewhat under utilised, it's only used for 1 night a year, it is obviously well maintained and set up for night flying. Red Baron Seaplanes has all the CASA approvals ... All I would need as the pilot is a check ride, hopefully CASA would approve Santa to do this ( as he is the only one endorsed on this type ) Just imagine Santa Sleigh rides all year round Day and night. This would be a real coup for Tourism in Townsville, people would travel from all over the world just to go on a Sleigh ride. I wonder how many passenger it would take?
