24.01.2022 After completing the Hundred Acres mid last year we wanted to turn our attention to the man in the suit for Gus McKays second music video. Which we completed by end of year. Inspiration came from R.E.M.s Imitation of Life with the idea of using a living canvas to weave short stories around the man in the Piawaning suit. Like Hundred Acres, Gus had his ideas involving an ant, coffin, goat, CBD and a ute with some sheep. The canvas started with the banjo man, challenge was to have the lines react to the song. Like for Hundreds Acres, Alpana Teena Singhs creative imagination with the artwork lead the way for the animation to create another distinct video. In linking to Hundred Acres, we wanted to capture some of the storm...

24.01.2022 Two superheroes ready for action! Another great campaign for Superhero HQ. Tomorrow is another chance to see the photos. Janet Craig Photographer really does bring out the superheroes in these kids.

24.01.2022 Red Bird takes on a new look and spreads its wings soaring to new heights!

24.01.2022 Being able to collaborate with Rina on this amazing project is such a joy. Her passion not only about science, but seeing all children learning and having access to science is simply inspiring. A huge thanks and congratulations to the team being a National Science Week recipient, spearheaded by Rina.

23.01.2022 After seeing a post from the New Zealand Police asking for creative ways to share COVID-19 messages we put our minds to work. A fun challenge. With the original video meant for a Kiwi audience we changed a few props for our fellow Aussies. Thanks to Vaughan Farrar for allowing us to use his voice acting talent.

21.01.2022 An amazing story and awesome to work with Daniel Njegich and Daniel Pitcher to visualise Arad's journey. And certainly a thrill to see the film play on the screen at Luna Leederville!

21.01.2022 Its one thing to see your work on a computer monitor, something better when you see it on a public screen for the first time, but seeing Landscapes last night before the crowd was a great and humbling moment for us. This was the fruition of all the months of effort, both on the canvas and computer screen, as well as the collaborative support of Screenwest. Thank you to all who came out last night to the Twilight at Yagan Sqaure market. Alpanas stall was one of many at this Perth Makers Market, all around us was further inspiration. All the likes and comments, from local and far and wide are well appreciated and loved! We have big dreams and are grateful for all the support as we journey on!

20.01.2022 Tonight two of our music videos hits the Digital Tower for the first WA Music Hour at Yagan Sqaure! One being Smithereens and the other A Little Cold Outside, a song from Elk Bells first album Superfragilistic.

19.01.2022 Bringing to life Gus McKay Bluesmans music was all about how can we not just tell a story, but find a way to connect the three music videos. While making each video stand out on their own. Starting with Hundred Acres, the challenge was how to fall on Guss own experiences and reflect farm life while still being creative artistically. Coming next, Piawaning Suit was inspired with the idea of a single canvas that contain interwoven short stories. It was the same process of lis...tening to Gus, using his ideas as a springboard then letting the art tell the story. The connection to Hundred Acres is the storm in the hour glass. In contrast, how to portray the story for Bohemian Life was allusive. Not till after a rethink and a different direction did it all come together. All part of the creative process and reflects what happens when the team shares ideas and works together. The bedroom scene made for a full circle to the farm with the sheep from Piawaning Suit and the windmill from Hundred Acres.

18.01.2022 What a great release for the Smithereens music video! Thanks RTRFM 92.1 for providing an exclusive premier! Our challenge was to not stray too far from Shimmerglooms initial idea for the music video while still being creative with the visuals and animation. Add to that how could we incorporate supplied footage with the digital animation. A first for us. Inspiring concept is where ideas start to take shape. Thanks to Year 11 student Rory Dalitz, who happened to be with us for... work experience at the time, we had a strong look for the main character. The best creativity is collaborative. From storyboard to final cut the team had great ideas and took them to another level. That includes working with the band and Scott Williamson from Doghouse Records. Whom came to Red Bird initially. A great song deserves a great music video so big thank you to Shimmergloom for the opportunity! 18.01.2022 Red Bird Creative has always had such great support from so many people so we send best wishes and respect to everyone who has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. In return we would love to support and connect with artists so we can continue to be creative and share stories. Any and all ideas are welcome as we want to play our part in sharing in opportinities. Red Bird Creative is able to continue working on projects as collaborating with remote teams is the normal running for us. So we are keen for any new connections and the exchanging of ideas, and to play our part in emerging from all this stronger. Thanks!

18.01.2022 Hello 2019! We did appear to be somewhat quiet in 2018, so to start the year we can share the fact we have a new website. Better still we finally have an updated portfolio! While quiet in this realm, new challenges always test us but thanks to a great a team and collaborations the reward was new ways to tell stories. Like how to explain an app with animated characters. Were looking forward to what this year brings, and to see what kept us busy last year please check out our ...new website! https://redbirdcreative.com.au/

17.01.2022 Thanks for coming by yesterday Sarah! Really enjoyed coming to Corridors Group for their Open Day Back In October and getting to understand what they value. So it was great to reciprocate in kind. Indeed 2018 can bring some great opportunities through collaboration.

17.01.2022 We have a new look Red Bird! With our wings stretched out in full flight we continue to reach for the sky and what lays beyond. Thank you to all who have supported us and all the opportunity thats come our way in these last 7yrs. And thanks to ROBJOB ART for the great design!

17.01.2022 As the expressions show this is totally awesome! Its been a thrill to work with Illuminart and we are only inspired by such creativity, passion and dedication. Congratulations!

16.01.2022 This was a great collaboration between Creator of Super Baby and Ted, Jennifer Bates and a dedicated team who wanted to bring this illustrated book to life. Cotsville may be a quiet town but for local superheroes Super Baby and Ted, Thomass desire to explore can mean he needs to be kept out of danger! Super Baby and Ted are always alert making sure the young people of Cotsville are safe and away from danger.

14.01.2022 An amazing story and awesome to work with Daniel Njegich and Daniel Pitcher to visualise Arads journey. And certainly a thrill to see the film play on the screen at Luna Leederville!

13.01.2022 When Cindi Drennan came to Perth all we knew this was an opportunity not to be missed. Being able to contribute to this animated projection as part of the University of Western Australias LUMINOUSnight centenary celebration in 2013 was amazing experience. Plus considering we had only been up and running for around a year and half, such a valuable learning experience too. So thanks Illuminart!

13.01.2022 Getting excited for the first showing of our short animation based on the Sub-Heroes book series! All happens on the 23rd May at the Collector Zone Toy & Hobby Fair in Craigie.

12.01.2022 One of the eleven Landscapes canavas, painted byAlpana Teena Singh and animated by Aaron Welch. Finding the right look for the wave to crash agaisnt the rock was the biggest challenge here. Great to see how it all comes together though!

12.01.2022 Only 2wks now! Straight away we saw the opportunity here in working with local filmmakers to provide animation for this short film. Part of the Get Your Shorts On! 2019 line up for Revelation Film Festival screening at Luna Leederville on 11th July. Being our first involvement in a film that will screen at a film festival was always going to be a challenge. The call was made out and a dedicated team really stepped up; Aaron Welch, Manuel Scussel, Alpana Teena Singh, Lachlan Seddon, Adam Chin and Jamie Rangitaawa. Just one of a selection of films that showcases WAs talented emerging filmmakers, we are thrilled to contributed to this powerful story.

12.01.2022 Artwork, projection and storytelling out in the bush. Collaborating with Illuminart continues to provide exciting opportunities!

11.01.2022 Going back to April at Yagan Square the WA Music Hour featured two music videos that we produced for Elk Bell and Shimmergloom. The Music Hour screen again a few weeks so heres pics of Elk Bells A Little Cold Outside looking great on the big screen.

10.01.2022 Supanova in Perth is not far away! This year we will be sharing our stand with Superhero HQ. Regardless of age, its all about having fun and particular over the weekend releasing your inner superhero!

09.01.2022 Last year we produced Gus McKays first music video. Challenge was to create not only create a unique visual style to reflect Guss distinct music, but also draw on his own experiences as inspiration. Also in working with Gus what features to include like the tractor and the man in the suit. In looking beyond Hundred Acres, we wanted to find ways to tell something of a story arc across more than one music video. The next one explores the man in suit. Creative team... 09.01.2022 Great to be able to share more about what went into the Smithereens music video.

08.01.2022 Felt like the crowds were bigger than ever so thanks to all who came! This year it was great to share our stand with Superhero HQ. Photos, a video, props and a giant pirate flag made for a different look to previous years. It was all fun for Blokka on the look out for superheros on the younger side and loving all the range and variety that is cosplay. Joining us for the first time was Manuel with his sketches and Kyles Akira fanart. For Rain is was Hatsune Miku. Amazing cosplay seen everywhere and great to catch up with old friends, meet new people and have great conversations.

07.01.2022 For Aaron Welch it started as a simple idea of what if paintings of Western Australian landscapes were more than just oil on canvas. Then if that wasnt hard enough how about for eleven paintings! Now, lets consider a circular screen with no end...

07.01.2022 In exploring a different approach to this third video we wanted to tell a story between two characters in Melbourne. Unlike Hundred Acres and Piawaning Suit, Gus took a back seat while we worked on the storyline and storyboard. That proved to be the easy part. Portraying the characters in Melbourne from another time was challenging to the point of the only way forward was going back to the initial idea. In Robson Vieira coming on board and working with Alpana Teena Singh on t...he story then creating the storyboard, the other challenge was how to effectively get the most out of their different artistic styles. Gus was always happy with our story and the storyboard, an image created by Alpana some years back in particular captivated Gus. Thanks to all of us coming together and sharing ideas and thoughts, we were able to take the original idea in a new direction. Robs storyboard was still a basis with focus on particular scenes. Bohemian Life was the most challenging of the three music videos. Thats not to say the effort was there for the Hundred Acres and Piawaning Suit, Bohemian Life did require a combined creative thinking and different insights. The result is another unique and vivid music video. Not until near completion of Bohemian Life did we find the right reference for Piawaning Suit. Then with the sheep appearing in the window it made sense to use the windmill from Hundred Acres to return to the farm to close the story arc.

07.01.2022 It's been a great collaboration with David Watts to bring the world of Sub-Heroes to life in the first one minute reveal. Not long now!

07.01.2022 As we like to say, its about making luck happen. But still!

07.01.2022 Starting with photos taken of WA landscapes, Alpana Teena Singh then created these eleven vibrant oil on canvas paintings. We had a unique opportunity to display her paintings during the Yagan Square Twilight Markets while Landscapes screened on the Digital Tower. Trees, grass and flowers were swaying, clouds drifting, oceans active and a waterfall tumbled over rocks.

06.01.2022 Couldnt agree more!

05.01.2022 Excellent crowds made for another excellent Supanova in Perth. Our stand showcased new talent with Rhiannon, Rain and Ellysha joining us for the first time. Along with Zoe all added their style of art. Zoes love of MCU certainly lead priceless reactions. Always great to catch up with friends, meet new artists and take in all the amazing cosplay. To all photographers awesome effort in capturing all that is Supanova. Photos taken on Sunday are thanks to Josh Wells Photography. Thank you all for making it another great weekend for Red Bird Creative and supporting local talent! And for those who come from abroad.

04.01.2022 Our project is being picked up in the local media!

04.01.2022 In 2011 we were presented with a great opportunity thanks to Elk Bell. Seeing her idea become our first music video. The video for the song Holiday Island was screened on the night as part of the launch of her debut studio album Superfragilistic in October. A great thrill. What was completely unexpected was a further four music videos came from the album for a total of five. Launched in September 2017, her second album Republica dfantAsia only exemplifies Elk Bells talents as a singer, songwriter and musician. Looking forward to more collaborative opportunity with this amazing Perth local!

04.01.2022 It was such a great thrill to be involved in this project and find ways to animate all the history and stories! Truly was a team effort with all the stellar collaboration!

04.01.2022 Were excited to say Landscapes will have its premier at the Bunuru Festival at Yagan Square! WAs natural beauty is captured in brilliant colour with oil on canvas by fine artist Alpana Teena Singh and brought to life with animation by Aaron Welch. Bunuru Festival takes place from Fri 22nd to Sunday 24th March, 11am to 9pm. Hopefully we can nail down an exact time when Landscapes is played on the Digital Tower, still we are thrilled Landscapes is part of the festival!

03.01.2022 Supanova in Perth is almost upon us. Always look fwd to a weekend of fun and madness so do come by and say hi! Famialir faces and some new ones will have their amazing art on show!

02.01.2022 Its been another great project to be involved with and a fun challenge to create animation from kids artwork. Plus see some previous collaborations with Illuminart on a brand new sculpture!

01.01.2022 Not long now! Our animation plays a small part in the Persias Pantry film but for us it was all about supporting this inspiring story.
