23.01.2022 Check this documentary out. Less than 10 per cent of the plastics we’ve used have been recycled. And it seems the recycling logo was used purely for marketing purposes.... Most consumers might have assumed the symbol meant the product was recyclable. But according to experts in the documentary below, there was no economically viable way to recycle most plastics, and they have ultimately ended up in a landfill. Single use plastic has dramatically increased globally since PPE measures have come in. Hope you enjoy watching it. https://youtu.be/lXzee3tIZco

23.01.2022 Guys that can’t go diving, here is another live ramble. This one was a good day in between lockdown 1 and lockdown 2 with a humpback swimming past the J4 submarine. One of Luke’s ridiculously useless interesting facts at the end. Miss you all and we will see you all soon.

22.01.2022 Gday Guys, I hope that you are all well. As you can see from our schedule, we have made the decision to pull the schedule completely. We are allowed to operate in some capacity, however have made the decision to cease operations for the time being for the greater good. Scuba diving is allowed as per advice on the DHHS website. You may go diving in maximum groups of 2 for exercise or education purposes (if that education is unable to be undertaken remotely). Make your own deci...sions on what you believe is appropriate action and check the DHHS website for updates. Please remember to support your local dive shop through these tough times. Updates to follow. Best Wishes to everyone.

22.01.2022 Heads up, the abalone closed season for CENTRAL Victorian waters is now in place until 16 November. Central Victorian waters are defined as the area between Air...e River in the west and Arch Rock in the east, and is inclusive of Port Phillip and Western Port. To see a map, go to: https://vfa.vic.gov.au//type/shellfish/abalone-all-species. During the open season in central Victorian waters (16 November 2020 30 April 2021), Fisheries Officers report that the majority of abalone fishers were doing the right thing. Now, it’s time to give abalone in central waters a rest for the winter! If you plan to fish for abalone OUTSIDE of central waters, remember that due to abalone disease detected at Cape Nelson, near Portland, there is currently a Control Area in place from Bridgewater Bay to east of Narrawong. In the Control Area, you cannot fish from shore (unless it's the Lee Breakwater at Portland) or a boat, or use any fishing or diving equipment. All abalone, rock lobsters, sea urchins and other aquatic invertebrates cannot be collected, whether live or dead. You cannot possess any fish in the Control Area unless transiting through. Anchoring is also prohibited. For updates and a map of the Control Area visit https://agriculture.vic.gov.au//animal-di/abalone-disease. #fisheriesofficersatwork #closedseason #abalone

21.01.2022 Hey guys, I’m always a little bit embarrassed when I do live feeds. Whether it’s for redboats or when I do a dive report for someone else. I’ve never really properly watched one back after I posted it.... I’ve always been worried that it might come across as being self-indulgent. But I just had a look at the Castle Rock live feed that I did before lockdown 2. I’ve attached it. Check it out. It makes me remember just how much I enjoy being out there. I hope it does for you too. I really get a kick out of the little games that we play on the water. Like in that video, where we take into acccount wind and current, and then line the boat up from 200 m away to drift onto the shot line whilst you guys are in the water. Check out the weather as well. !!!! I hope you like the live feeds as much as I now appreciate them........

20.01.2022 Good morning. We made the tough call to pull all of our dives today due to the erratic easterly winds coming through. Easterly winds in the heads can be uncomfortable at times. Have a great time today.
