25.01.2022 FINALS TIME... We want to congratulate all of our players and teams who qualified for the finals of season like no other. Our growth in numbers and COVID have made planning a challenge but thanks to all the club presidents for their assistance. The state government have reduced restrictions on indoor gatherings to 1 person per 2 square metres beginning on Tuesday 17th November at 4pm. Therefore, our current COVID plan still remains until further notice. ... The big one to remember is the ONE SPECTATOR PER PLAYER rule at all locations. I’m sure we are all excited to watch the finals but we will be monitoring this rule across this weekend and asking people to wait outside if need be. Thanks so much for your patience so far. There has literally only be 2 or 3 who have made things difficult but overall it has been great. We will provide more announcements next week. Good luck to all!! Let’s Roar!!!

12.01.2022 HAPPY BIRTHDAY REDCITY 1 year ago today, our executive directors Jason Fiddes and Craig Oldfield officially took control of the Redlands Basketball program with a vision to grow the game and build pathways in the Redlands. We then formed an independent association called RedCity Roar Basketball Since then, we have employed our General Manager Peter Pollock, and Accounts and Administration Officer Jo Doyle. We then established a club model, and with their help, we have be...come one of the fastest growing basketball associations in Australia. We are extremely grateful for all who call RedCity their home. We are by no means the perfect club and have a lot to learn, but believe our hearts are in the right place and were moving in the right direction Finally, to those who have left the Redlands in recent years for better opportunities, we completely understand but would like you to know there is always at home at RedCity because the best is yet to come

10.01.2022 "RedCity prides itself on respect, teamwork and inclusion. Any and all forms of bullying, racism or attempts to ostracise and exclude people from enjoying our small town association will be met with ZERO TOLERANCE as we increase our attention toward this." Jason Fiddes - President RedCity Roar Basketball Association Inc. On the back of the recent post from our President regarding our culture, the Association has approached some community leaders within their professiona...l fields to help build and shape the behaviours of our members to reflect the following values from our Strategic Plan: WE PUT PEOPLE BEFORE PERFORMANCE. The wellbeing of people is more important than our success. WE TRAIN AS IF OUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT. We achieve success by training hard and not taking short cuts. WE COMPETE UNTIL THE VERY END. We give 100% at all times, in all places, and in every situation. WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER. Our success requires the support of volunteers. WE TREAT OTHERS THE WAY WE WANT TO BE TREATED. People of all backgrounds, lifestyles, and positions are valued. WE PROVIDE SOLUTIONS TO OUR PROBLEMS. Suggestions not accusations will lead to solutions. Part of this process is the Judiciary System which is unfortunately needed when our members overstep the line. We will be introducing individuals from our judiciary panel over the next few weeks. 08.01.2022 RedCity NBL1 UPDATE! Basketball Queensland have had to make some tough decisions over the last few days! U12 State Champs were cut short denying the RedCity Roar teams a chance at securing a medal. U14 Boys State Champs is now cancelled and we await further info for the U14 Girls State Champs... The NBL1 games scheduled for Friday at the Paul Bancroft against Cairns is in the process of being rescheduled by Basketball Queensland. As soon as we have confirmation of dates and... times of those games, we will post here and make contact those who have purchased tickets to offer refunds or hold on to their tickets for the rescheduled event. QSL UPDATE! The RedCity Roar women have played their way into fourth spot in Div2 with a 3 win & 3 loss record including a win over third placed Sunshine Coast Phoenix, and a narrow loss to second placed South West Metro Pirates. A match up against league leaders Northside Wizards is scheduled for this Saturday at 1.00pm at South Pine Sports Complex (if lockdown is lifted) will give the girls to something to aim for. Northside are undefeated and will be the benchmark if RedCity are going to play their way through to the next level. NBL1 Coach Cassie Dover has suited up and provided some valued experience to the team, as has Allana Gerhardt and Myka Arthur. The emergence of Maia Cooper has seen her elevated to the NBL1 roster. The QSL ladies next home game is 1.30pm on the 10th July against the Ipswich Force. In the men the RedCity Pride had some impressive performances including a win over third placed North Gold Coast Seahawks. A narrow 82-84 loss to Ipswich Energy has them sitting just outside a bunch of teams pushing for a finals berth and they will need to get a few wins over teams in that bubble to make a run at finals. Gareth Lyle's return from injury has been stunning averaging 25 points a game including a 41 point outburst against Toowoomba up on the range last week! Northside Wizards and Sunshine Coast Phoenix Teal have been dominate and the Pride play Northside Wizards at Northside this Saturday (pending lock down being lifted). This will be a good test for them as they prepare for a string of games critical to their ladder position including a home match up against the RedCity Roar on the 10th of July at 3.30pm at the Paul Bancroft Centre. The RedCity Roar too have had some close games, their best being against league leaders Northside, but have not been able to find the consistency to this point and need to secure more wins. They have a few weeks to work their game to another level with their next match up away against the Moreton Bay Suns on the 9th July before coming home to play little brother the Pride on Sunday the 10th.
