23.01.2022 CALLING ALL PARENTS & SPECTATORS Just like all parents and guardians, we really wish that all swimming meets were able to be run the way weve always known them... to. However, this new normal (under COVID-19 restrictions) does result in having to hold all meets as closed events, following physical distancing measures, venue capacities and contact tracing guidelines for the foreseeable future. Based upon each venue, physical distancing requirements will mean that you will be assigned a defined spectator area which may not always be exactly where youd like to sit to catch the action in the pool. Despite these obstacles, we are grateful of being able to resume swimming meets under these new normal circumstances and give Queensland swimmers the opportunity to once again compete and enjoy racing! We sincerely thank you for your support and understanding during this challenging time and hope that you join us in our excitement for the upcoming meets scheduled.

22.01.2022 Attention Swimmers! 22.01.2022 As Qld is in Stage 1 of relaxing restrictions, the pool the RLSC train in is still closed. This hasnt stopped some of the members making the most of the outdoors by having non contact mock relays to medicine ball work outs with the best view of the sea. Keep up the good work, stay positive and be safe.

22.01.2022 It has been a long 9-10 weeks since the pool our club calls home shut due to Covid-19 and now it will continue to be shut due to council works. This has not stopped some of our members getting back into a pool in their own time. Even so far as driving 25-30 kms to get to one. Keep up the good work and fitness. Stay motivated and safe. Wishing you all well and see you during the Zoom end of season Presentation on the 6th June.

13.01.2022 5 1st Places; 11 top 3; 10 top 10; 11 top 20 and a Crystal Trophy for 3rd Place in the Third Division of the Brisbane Premiership Competition 2019/2020. This is the remarkable results 9 juniors from the Redcliffe Leagues Swimming Club came away with from the Brisbane Short Course Championship 2020. With the Covid-19 safety plan in place, active participants were seated at one side of the Brisbane Aquatic Centre whilst the limited number of spectators were seated on the other... side. Despite the changes, the swimmers went in prepared with their coach and did what they do best. They raced. Each of the swimmers came away with new Personal Best times. Some as much as 10 seconds off. Well done to the entire team Rylee, Hudson, Mara, Coco, Markus, Lachlan, Charlotte, Amelie and Hilary. We would like to recognise the efforts of Rylee Smith who competed in 12 events and became Brisbane Short Course Champion a staggering 5 times. Congratulations on your racing achievements. All swimmers competed so well that the team were part of the top contenders on points for the second division for the Premiership Competition. Thanks goes out to the coaches Jacqui Beach and especially Wan Da Drew of the Redcliffe War Memorial Pool. Wandas ability to coach the children throughout the lead up and weekend to achieve the goals they set out is a credit to her and her coaching team. Thanks also to the volunteer parents who spent two whole days supporting and managing the team.

13.01.2022 The Brisbane Swimming Awards for the 2019/2020 season have been listed. Unfortunately due to Covid-19 the ceremony was unable to take place this year. The club had seen enormous growth having scored 35 points in the previou...s season, to seeing immense improvement during this past successful competition season and scoring 155 points to claim third place. This enables the club to move forward to Division Two in the coming season. Well done to all the swimmers who made this possible and to the coaching staff at the Redcliffe War Memorial Pool lead by Coaches Wanda Drew Wan Da and Jacqui Beach. 12.01.2022 Swimming Queensland is aware of the recent confirmed COVID cases in Queensland and the directions relevant to people known to have been in close contact with, o...r to have visited known locations of these confirmed cases. Last night a new directive was issued related to the positive cases and at this time pertains to Restricted Aged Care Facilities, Hospitals and Health Services located within the defined suburbs. https://www.health.qld.gov.au//queensland-covid-19-restric We are monitoring health advice closely, and as it stands at 830am on Friday, 31 July 2020, there are no directions in place that will affect the planned BSA Prep Meets on 15-16 August, 2020 going ahead. 09.01.2022 That’s a wrap! 2020 McDonald’s Queensland LC Championship has come and gone and just like that our racing year has come to an end. Such a great way to end off the year. The Redcliffe Leagues swimming club had 5 swimmers qualify and compete in 16 individual events. Something that has not happened since 2016 when Ken Woods guided our club swimmers in multiple races. In a year that was over shadowed by covid-19 and still being out of our home pool since March 24 due to re-tili...ng, the team were able to still keep some focus and work through the obstacles. Lead by head coach Wan Da Drew of the Redcliffe War Memorial Pool the team achieved great results. Congratulations to Hilary, Amelie, Daniel, Zaine and Rylee for qualifying for the biggest event on the swimming calendar for this year. This meet has been described as the best and fastest in the country by many professionals in the industry. With many of the greatest in the nation choosing to swim in Queensland in the lead up to the Olympic qualifiers. This meet covered the best in Queensland from far north Queensland, Wide Bay and Gold Coast. There were many interstate and a few international visitors too. Definitely a strong field of contenders. Special mention goes to Rylee Smith who finished top 10 four times. Also to Zaine Vardon who finished top 10 twice and Daniel Baker who also finished top 10. The results are as follows: Hilary Rika- 50m freestyle new PB finishing 36th Amélie Hoefel- 50m breaststroke new PB finishing 18th - 50m backstroke finishing 36th Daniel Baker- 100m freestyle new pb finishing 10th - 50m freestyle new pb finishing 17th Zaine Vardon- 50m freestyle new pb finishing 9th -50m backstroke new pb finishing 10th -50m butterfly new pb finishing 11th -100m butterfly new pb finishing 11th -100m freestyle new pb finishing 18th Finally Rylee Smith with her impressive 6 events. - 400m freestyle new pb finishing 5th - 100m backstroke new pb finishing 6th - 200m IM new pb finishing 8th - 200m backstroke new pb finishing 8th -200m freestyle new pb finishing 12th -100m freestyle new pb finishing 14th Special thanks to the families, supporters and sponsors of the club. 07.01.2022 6 juniors from the Redcliffe Leagues Swimming Club competed at the Nudgee College SC Junior Transition meet. On hand to assist with warm ups was junior assistant Charlotte and Amélie. The kids all swam well, with 12 Podium places. That was a bonus as the real reason the kids wanted to swim was to be able to compete in a relay together. This they did, finishing a strong 3rd place in the medley and a convincing 1st place in freestyle. Congratulations to Charlotte, Coco, Mara, H...udson and Markus. But a very big congratulations to Jay who competed at his very first outside competition. He even got to go home with a gold medal from his freestyle event. Well done. To end off the day, both Coco and Jay competed at the Acacia Bayside Development meet. Both swam well finishing top 3 in their age groups in numerous events. Taking home more medals and ribbons. Thank you to the team managers for their support, to the Brisbane Swimming Officials for their hard work on this very warm day and lastly to Wan Da Drew and the coaching staff of Redcliffe War Memorial Pool currently at Murrumba Downs Swimming Pool for preparing this great group of little juniors to continue competing at their best.
