25.01.2022 Softball coaches needed for school programs ALL THROUGHOUT QUEENSLAND! With school about to start again soon teachers have been getting in contact requesting ...softball programs right across the state. This term in particular there has been interest in: Toowoomba Softball Association, Townsville Softball Association, Caboolture Sports Softball Association, Suncoast Hinterland Softball Association and Brisbane Softball Association. This changes all the time though so it's good for us to have a list of willing and able coaches all throughout the state. There are also schools outside of our district areas in country Queensland that are interested in doing softball, so if you're in country Queensland and are interested in coaching please also register your interest so our Development & Participation Coordinator is aware Email [email protected] or call 07 3391 2447 to enquire or apply!

17.01.2022 We have had an amazing representative season this year, fielding a team at every State Championships. This is something that we can be truly proud of. We've had a mixed bag of results, all of them very positive and it shows the growth and potential for the future of representative softball and the RLSA. There is no team without officials willing to give up their time to work with a team and on behalf of all of our representative players we would like to thank these people for... their dedication and willingness to share their experience and knowledge. It is acknowledged that the majority of the officials below worked across multiple teams. 17.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who followed our COVID rules over the weekend. Feedback I received was that we did pretty well but there is room for improvement. I know that things are a little different at the park now with social distancing affecting seating under the shade between D1 and D2. Please understand that this is a compliance issue and nothing personal. We all have to do our bit to make sure that the season keeps going for all Associations. We encourage you to bring your ...own seating and shade and sit around the diamonds in areas that are not fenced off. There is NO seating under the shade between D1 and D2, nor should anyone be seated outside the office. Volunteers will ask you to move if you are sitting there. The officials/players areas near the dugouts are only for those involved in the game that is being played during that time slot. You must wait for the teams to exit BEFORE you can enter this area for the next round. I’m really looking forward to watching games this weekend and will see you at the park. Carrie

16.01.2022 Well the first of the State Championships down to kick off the rep season. Let the thank yous begin... Firstly, I have to thank the grounds staff and volunteers who helped make this a successful event. Bryan Moylan and his team Eddie, Donald and Terry did a brilliant job in setting up the fields and maintaining them throughout. Thank you to Jean, Graham and Cassie and their crew, Sherril, Talia, Lori, Mateena, Mia and the BBQ volunteers for keeping us feed and watered. Speci...al thanks to our yellow shirt brigade of rep squad members and coaches who made sure we could all check in and for turning over the dugouts as quickly as they could. Thanks also to Jason Summers for convening the tournament and to John King for setting up the live feeds and for dealing with all the technical difficulties. This tournament could not have worked without you all. If I have forgotten anyone I am truly sorry. Secondly, to all the teams and spectators. Thank you all for doing your best to stick to the guidelines that were put in place to ensure that we were all safe, and proving that community sports events can happen safely. I hope you all had a great time and wish you the very best for the rest of the year. Good luck to all those who have nominated for Patriots and U23s squads. Well done to every Association that was able to compete this weekend and special snaps to Logan and Redlands for making the QLD Cup and Opens Cup finals and to Hervey Bay and Ipswich for the Presidents Cup final. Congratulations to the winners of each of these games, Logan A and B and Hervey Bay. Lastly, thank to SQI for allowing us to host this event. I have had so much fun this weekend and it was lovely to catch up with friends, old and new. 11.01.2022 The first half of the season is now done and it’s time to rest up, spend some time with friends and family and prepare to cruise into the new year. Thank you to everyone for your patience and support as we navigated through the new COVID rules and for working with us to ensure that the first half of the season went well. It was a shame that the diamond signs morning tea and Pink Day could not go ahead. These events will now take place on the 30th January 2021. Our volunteers ...will be taking a well earned break. The RLSA office will be closed from 5pm Friday 18th December and reopen on Monday 11th January. Emails will be checked intermittently and only actioned if urgent. On behalf of the Management Committee I wish you a happy and safe holiday and look forward to seeing you all back when the season resumes on Saturday 23 January 2021. 02.01.2022 COVID-19 Update: As you may be aware, Queensland Health will shortly release an updated Covid-safe Roadmap for the Greater Brisbane Area following the completio...n of the three-day lockdown period last weekend. The Roadmap outlines additional restrictions that will be in place from 6pm Monday 11 January 2021 through to 1am Friday 22 January 2021. Details of these changes are outlined on the Queensland Government’s COVID website.
