15.01.2022 On the 2nd September, Carrie from the High Resolves team facilitated a session with the Year 7 and Year 9 Dangerous Minds’ classes to help them develop independent higher order thinking, team work and strategy. This program was well received by the students who assumed the role of ambassadors of countries around the world. Their task was to develop a strategy to reduce carbon emissions in their country without causing economic harm. Negotiations between countries took place,... agreements were made, deals brokered, and there was also sabotage and coercion! The discussion at the end was a great way to debrief and find out what they would change if they had the opportunity to try this again. The teachers- Mrs Lowe and Mrs Brown- were impressed by the engagement of the students and are looking at ways this style of learning can be implemented in lessons.

07.01.2022 It's important to make time to ask R U Ok? By giving someone your time and the opportunity to share what they are feeling, you're giving that person something invaluable! We spend a lot of time with family, friends and workmates, which means we are well-placed to notice the small changes that might suggest someone needs some extra support. If you feel that something's not quite the same with someone you know - there's something going on in their life, or you notice a change... in what they're saying or doing - trust your gut instinct and take the time to ask them "R U Ok?" Read through these pictures for help with navigating through an R U Ok? conversation. Ask, then listen, encourage action and check-in. A single conversation can change a life.
