24.01.2022 Today marks the start of 16 Days of Activism, a yearly campaign aiming to increase awareness of gender-based violence and discrimination. Hamish Fletcher is the... Captain of Wirrate CFA, and says that to him, respect is speaking up in the face of poor or violent behaviour. As CFA volunteers we support each other by calling out danger on the fire ground. Speaking out against violent behaviour is no different. Violent behaviour is perpetrated and supported through actions. It is also confronted and responded to through actions. The action we choose is up to us.

24.01.2022 Happy International Firefighters Day to all of our members that assist with the community within our brigade & all other firefighters.

23.01.2022 Today is #InternationalFriendshipDay and we're celebrating how friendships strengthen our ability to stay connected and support one another - before, during and... after an emergency. Our friends often look out for us and for many of our volunteers, through CFA they have formed incredible, lifelong friendships which support the many roles they take on in our communities. Make sure you let your friends know today how much they mean to you.

Glenn joined the Red Cliffs Fire Brigade in 1972 and served 48 years as an operational firefighter, including time as Apparatus Officer, Lieutenant and 6 years as Captain. 16.01.2022 Today is Thank A First Responder Day We just wanted to say thank you to the incredible work our first responders do to protect, defend and care for our communities. This year has certainly tested us with fires, floods, storms and COVID-19, on top of everyday house fires, car crashes and crime. Our first responders put much of their lives on hold to respond to the community and whenever we need them. They leave their home and family behind to protect their ...community and their neighbours. So thank you For more info on Thank A First Responder Day, visit www.thankafirstresponder.com.au Credit - CFA District 18

09.01.2022 Today marks a historic day for the fire services of Victoria. Today all Career Officers & Firefighters from CFA (Country Fire Authority) & MFB (Melbourne Metropolitan Fire Brigade) will merge into a new modernised firefighting service known as Fire Rescue Victoria. All current CFA Volunteers will continue to remain and serve with the CFA, which will revert to being a full pledge volunteer fire service.... Regardless of which incident we are called upon in your community, you will still see the same firetrucks attending that call, they're still there to assist with the community but some may just have different logos. We'd like to thank the Career Officers & Firefighters at Mildura Fire Brigade for working alongside us as apart of the CFA, and continue to work with us as one. #weworkasone #countryfireauthority #firerescuevictoria
