24.01.2022 2020 is (thankfully!) nearly over. Let’s head into the new year by spreading a little kindness.

23.01.2022 A huge shout out to all our Emergency Services volunteers helping communities across Australia and proving that kindness knows no borders. Volunteers like Donna..., Nora, Jacqui, Sue and Cecilia, who hailed from the Northern Territory to support Western Australians impacted by Tropical Cyclone Seroja. From fires and cyclones in WA to floods in NSW, this year has already been incredibly challenging for many Australians. 20.01.2022 Today is World Kindness Day This year we need this more than ever. When we see someone else help another person it also gives us a hit of endorphins, to gi...ve us the same good feeling. This in turn causes us to go out and do something altruistic ourselves. Whether it’s through writing a kind note for a loved one to find, shouting a friend a coffee, giving a random stranger a compliment, letting someone into the traffic line of simply holding the door for someone with a smile. There are multiple ways to send a ripple of kindness into the world around us. What are you doing today? Share in the comments to inspire others. See more

12.01.2022 Women impacted by the fires in Keilira and Sherwood were positively overwhelmed by the Red Cross pamper day held in early November. Over 10 months on from the ...fires it was important to provide a day that brought women together and allowed overdue conversations to occur. Of course the ladies also received a bit of pampering, something that they said they didn’t even know they needed! "Live music, flower workshop and some pampering goodies - it made it feel like a really special day" "Great to come along and do something for myself for a change" "Fellowship, laughter, relaxation and information", "Enjoyed the Mental Health talks - very informative" Red Cross was supported by the local Kingston District Council and Sue Benson from CRANAplus in running this event.

07.01.2022 #BREAKING Foreshore beaches closed in Port Lincoln as spill investigated. Update 8pm 26/11: An SA EPA spokesperson has advised that their investigations have r...evealed that treated wastewater, accidentally discharged from a vessel moored at Port Lincoln, appears to have dissipated. The EPA has no environmental concerns, however local beaches have been closed pending water quality test results. The City of Port Lincoln Council is asking the community to not swim or fish from any beaches along the Lincoln foreshore to the Kirton Point jetty, and any other areas sign-posted while the SA Environment Protection Agency and SA Health investigates. "We don't want people on the sand, in the water and we don't want people fishing," said council CEO Matthew Morgan. "We've got teams working along those beaches putting up signage as we speak... and we'll be in contact with SA Health and the EPA but they're doing samples in those areas," he said. SA_EPA shared a post on Twitter just after 8.30pm last night about their investigation into, "the discharge of approx. 26 cubic metres of sewage from a bulk carrier moored at Port Lincoln." More to come.

06.01.2022 Australian Red Cross in Port Lincoln celebrated its volunteers with a morning tea today, as it calls for more people to put their hands up to become volunteers.
