22.01.2022 R U OK? is more than just a question. It could be the conversation opener that saves a life. We all know what it’s like to face challenges and need support from those around us. Today is a reminder to reach out and ask R U OK?, then listen, watch and pay attention. Because sometimes we’re just not ok. And being alone with that can be devastating. Thanks to Tony Walker and our friends at Emergency Services Foundation for sharing this message today.

16.01.2022 G'day all, it's Damo. So I'm a little late on this, but I just wanted to jot down a couple of thoughts about Foodbank Victoria From the 22nd of March until a couple of weeks ago, I was doing all my work out of Foodbank down in Yarraville. From the beginning of our COVID response, all the food and toiletries, nappies, formula and pet food has been coming from Foodbank. And even before that, all the relief supplies that we sent to assist with the fires this summer, over 50 tonn...es, came from Foodbank. We have delivered nearly 3500 food relief hampers (about 147 tonnes) to Victorians in the last 3 1/2 months. A truly phenomenal effort from everyone. I was truly lucky to spend so long at Foodbank. From the very beginning, when we were sending out over 300 packs a day and continuing to today, the Foodbank mob have been incredible. Nothing was ever too hard, they are efficient and friendly and professional. Literally everyone, from Dave the CEO and everyone in the organisation, went out of their way to make my life as easy as possible. AND they continued feeding the most vulnerable across the state on top of that. It's hard to not sound hyperbolic when I talk of the folks there. Literally everyone was genuinely wonderful. The folks I worked with the most, Patrick, Rob, Kyle, Eddie and Odie, are the reason that we were able to do what we did. Along with all the drivers, forkies, office crew and all the factory hands, they have been as busy as we have and have done a bloody good job So, Foodbank Victoria thank you for the work that that you have put in to helping people who are affected by..well..2020. I greatly appreciated all the help you all gave me personally and professionally, and to our entire organisation. We wouldn't have been able to do the job that we did, and continue to do, without such an invaluable partnership. From all of us, thank you. See more
