23.01.2022 Love comes in many forms. If you had to describe your horse in 3 words what would they be?
22.01.2022 I need a groom here in Cardinia. Horse knowledge is a must but I’m more that happy to train the finer details on site.
20.01.2022 G’day Folks! We’d like to officially welcome Red Curtis to our team! Red possesses a wealth of knowledge when it comes to all things equestrian, having spent ov...er 25 years in the industry in Australia and internationally. She also breeds corgis, (you see Didi in the picture) so when it comes to whelping and canine health, Red is the person to talk to! Welcome aboard!
20.01.2022 This is what happens when you wash your corgi.

19.01.2022 If you think I’m desensitizing my horse any other way than this you’re wrong
19.01.2022 Leonie Brammell - rider, coach, thinker - talks about half halts, contact and frame... What’s a half halt? It’s a connecting, a re-cycling, of energy, which is... carried on into the new forward movement. It is a constant re-cycling of energy. So how do I do it? Sending energy forward, catching it again. It is hard to explain, you have to feel it. When you are teaching you have to try and take riders to where they feel that moment. For example, when the horse is in trot, almost take it to walk and then trot it on again, without changing the neck, and making the back end do it. It’s going whoa in front, and go behind, at the same time. That’s what a piaffe is, balance the horse with the half halts, the neck stays where it is, and you keep re-charging in the back end, and the horse keeps stepping off the ground. https://www.horsemagazine.com//leonie-bramall-contact-hal/ See more
19.01.2022 Today we pack up and get ready to camp at Boneo tonight. Tomorrow will mark the first competition back for Ty and I and I’m so excited but also terrified. I don’t think I’ll ever get over the competition nerves but maybe with the help of everyone I can learn new ways to cope with them.
17.01.2022 I’ll be so sad to se some of them go but that’s the way my job works right? A few of my new friends have become so comfortable in their work, it’s time for them to go home. Good news for you though!! I’ll have two spots available next week for horses to come and stay with me. Bringing horses back in to work from a spell, training out some undesirable behaviours, preparing a horse for sale or breaking young horses in. Groundwork or work under saddle, I can make a package spe...cifically for you and your horse. Bringing your horse to my place for training we offer: $280 for 4 rides/groundwork $350 for 5 rides/groundwork Then if you have your own feed we can feed it out or if you would like us to use our specialised feed options we can make something perfect for him and it’s only $30 per week. Agistment at our place is $25 per week for a private paddock with grass and friends nearby.

15.01.2022 Out with the old and in with the new. COVID has been a wild ride for everyone. With all the inconsistencies it brought there was always one thing I could rely on, love from my horses. I wanted to put a reminder out there for everyone getting back in to the swing of riding again. Horses will give you back what you give to them and they don’t get a reward from your achievements if you don’t give them gratitude. Remember, they don’t have a frontal lobe so they have no ability ...to reason. While we’ve been bringing so many lovely animals back in to work it’s been crucial to keep the training simple and keep the rewards frequent. Make the job just as fun for your horse as it is for you! We still have a spot or two free if you’re looking to bring something back in to work, sort through some undesirable behaviours or have something broken in. Send me a message for details.
14.01.2022 Hi everyone! Now that I’ve moved and gotten busier I’m going to have to travel costs on top of lessons. I’m charging 0.50c per KM from my facility. My address is 790 Tooradin Station Road Cardinia. You’re more than welcome to come ride at my place. I have a 25x50 sand area with poles and wings as well as a 20m roundyard and a washbay.
13.01.2022 Don’t curb your horses curiosity. A similar statement to the age old adage reward the try. Letting horses be curiously and rewarding their efforts will pay off in the long run. Making the work enjoyable will give them a reason to want to do it. They don’t get paid to do this, they don’t want ribbons, they don’t understand ’winning’. It’s your job to make them feel appreciated every time you ride. Let cheeky horses play, let stressed horses relax and let willing horses rest. Find what your horse thinks is rewarding then use that to make your workouts fun.
13.01.2022 So busy making sure the horses are sun smart I forgot myself!! Be careful out there everyone, I’ve been sick all night because of it and you don’t want that!
08.01.2022 Got to have some good old fun doing something I love and don’t get to do often, long reining (ground driving). One of the benefits of long-reining is that you can teach your horse to do things while still being there to hold his hand. Straightness, or a lack of it, is a fundamental aspect of every horse’s training and often very hard to achieve. However, by teaching your horse to be straight without you on board to correct him, you can make your job as a rider a lot easier. ...The capacity to work your horse in a straight line is one of the greatest benefits of long-reining over lungeing. You can choose to work on straightness in the arena or change the backdrop a little and take your horse off around tracks or fields. It also gives you a chance to work through any stop and go issues on the ground so you can really teach them how to use their hind leg.

04.01.2022 Look out! Rafiki did it again. Giving girls their first pony ride hahaha. DeeDee put her feet on a horse for the first time today, she was not impressed. I hope you guys got to ride over the weekend in the sun!
03.01.2022 Yesterday was Ty’s birthday and he loves Doritos!! So for Ty’s birthday party we shared Doritos with everyone and they all loved them. Ty had a lovely lady come and look at him yesterday too. Ty is still for sale and now with less restrictions you’re welcome to come and have a ride. Only one person has come to see him so far so get in while you still have a chance.
03.01.2022 Dexter is the best baby horse I’ve ever worked with. At 4 years and 3 months old and only about 13 proper rides, he is just the best horse to be around. I’m looking forward to teaching this little guy how much fun dressage really is. We still have two spots lest for horses to come in for training. Let me know if we can help!
02.01.2022 I can’t decide on who wants to go and compete with me? Help me decide! Rafiki, Dexter or Ty?
