18.01.2022 It’s coming into winter and we naturally dont want to exercise but exercising is the perfect way to get the old joints warm and less stiff of a morning. Please remember if you chose to do some sort of exercise with these cold mornings then make sure you warm up at least 10 minutes before you workout and dynamic stretches (stretches with movement). This is also a great little thing to add into your morning routine to prevent stiff joints. SHINE YOUR BRIGHTEST

13.01.2022 Importance Behind Recovery Days Recovery is just as important as your training if not more important. I know having a rest day when your use to training every day that rest day can make you feel incredibly lazy but the magic happens on the recovery days. Because when we train intensity it puts the body under stress and the more stress you put on the body the longer the body will take to grow as its continuously stressed. If you take a rest day it is said that its beneficial... and can increase performance in the gym. While resting your body’s nervous system adopts to the current training you are doing and makes you perform better and you are able to push your self to a new level and get to that PB (personal best) that you are striving for. Rest days also prevent over training which affects our mood and sleep which sabotages our training. Tips on how to have good quality recovery: * Eat an overall balanced diet * Good quality Sleep * Stay hydrated * Massage * Lower your stress levels These tips will help you recovery safer and quicker! As we train more then the stimulus that the body is use to we literally micro tear our muscles to help make them grow when resting like i mention above the bodies nervous system gets to work and repairs the muscle tissue and makes it bigger to be able to cope with the stress we put it under when training but if we don’t rest that muscle group then we stop it from full adapting and reaching its full potential. How long should we rest that muscle group for? The answer is at least 48 hours of each muscle group is enough time to ensure that your muscles are will perform at its best as long as you haven’t already hit the over training mark and if so I recommend a week. What are the signs of over training? Some signs are * Soreness, strain, and pain. ... * Overuse injuries. ... * Fatigue. ... * Reduced appetite and weight loss. ... * Irritability and agitation. ... * Persistent injuries or muscle pain. ... * Decline in performance. * Always getting sick Always getting sick can be a massive sign that you need to retest because as we train the immune system lowers from our bodies being under stress. Just because its a rest day doesn’t mean you have to sit around. As long as your not doing an activity that is greater then the stimulus that you are usually training then it’s alright. For example if you train at 75% of your one max repetition then train at 65-70% of your one max repetition. Or you can go for a walk but not a run! FUN FACT: You can loose weight by walking at 65-70% of your MRH (max heart rate) where you can still walk and talk at the same time but most people find doing an hour of that is boring so therefore chooses HIIT (high intensity interval training) to keep things fun. So if you haven’t taken time off training for a while and notice that your not improving maybe think about taking time off training and see what happens when you get back on the grind

06.01.2022 Unpopular opinion There are no magic diets out there! If there was we would all have the body of our dreams Calories out vs calories in ( food we eat vs the energy we burn) is the only thing that works at the end of the day. So you can eat whatever you want BUT its the nutrients that you get out of the food that will help you with your goals. If you eat a massive amount of fat and little carbohydrates and protein a day this is going to cause you to not lose fat mass but to... lose muscle mass. In a deficit this isn’t ideal as the human body isn’t design to be shred all the time. It’s made to survive so when you go into a deficit your body wants to fight with you to put the weight back on but there is way to help this process as we start our journey. Ensure your hitting your protein and fibre amounts as this will keep you feeling full. Drink water and go for a walk. Make sure your stress levels are low and that your getting 8-9 hours good quality sleep! Following these will help the starting process for you. I hope these litttle tips work for you! , .
