20.01.2022 Colin grew up in the small town of Mannum, South Australia, and left for adventures. Recently, however, he returned to the town as a local church minister. But this church isn't interested in 'business as usual'.
20.01.2022 Just caught up with the wonderful Morrisons who have started a Red Dirt Church in the Curra area. Its taken 12 months, but they are finding their feet (actually, a lot of little feet are part of this one!).
19.01.2022 The safety of kids and vulnerable people is HUGE for Red Dirt Church. Weve just produced a training video to help all our leaders be equipped to create safe places. Quite a while back, we teamed up with ChildSafe Australia to help us in this. Theyve been awesome.
19.01.2022 Graydon Snyder of Chicago Theological Seminary wrote that the New Testament Church began as a small group house church (Col. 4:15), and it remained so until the middle or end of the third century. There are no evidences of larger places of meeting before 300. Snyder adds, there is no literary evidence nor archaeological indication that any such home was converted into an extant church building. Nor is there any extant church that certainly was built prior to Constantine. So, the early church normally met in homes. As the Gospel spread around the world, so did lounge-room churches. https://ntrf.org/first-century-house-churches/
19.01.2022 Quick rip around...
17.01.2022 Many people of faith go through periods of doubt. Simple Churches (like Red Dirt Churches) are small and safe, providing us opportunity to wrestle with our questions. To help, theres a website reddirtreligion.org which provides prayers, prompts and practices that encourages us along when we arent always sure.

14.01.2022 One of the growing challenges in Australia is creating natural, meaningful, faith communities in high-density communities. Karina Kreminski has written some great stuff on this. Red Dirt Churches (btw your can use a different name if you want) are ideal for this sort of work. Ellie and I, while we were in Townsville, started a RDC in our apartment complex in the city. While we couldnt do this long term, it was easy to see it would be excellent at reaching people who lived and loved more urban vibes.
14.01.2022 Red Dirt Church is church for the gaps. Theres no denying that there are a lot of great churches around. But, for some people, they arent always accessible for all kinds of reasons (e.g. geographic or cultural reasons). Red Dirt Church shares a mission with like-minded movements to work in the gaps; to reach those who got missed. For us, that usually means people within our natural networks who have no church connections. #reddirtchurch #1reddirtnation
