23.01.2022 Our animal babies love visits anytime of day and rush for cuddles and attention.
23.01.2022 Growing as much of our own fruit and vegetables as we can contributes to our health, the health of the soil and helps reduce our carbon footprint to benefit the earth. We grow veganically without the use of any animal products.
22.01.2022 The ethics of reverence for life makes no distinction between higher and lower, more precious and less precious lives. It has good reasons for this omission. For what are we doing, when we establish hard and fast gradations in value between living organisms, but judging them in relation to ourselves, by whether they seem to stand closer to us or farther from us. This is a wholly subjective standard. How can we know what importance other living organisms have in themselves and in terms of the universe? Albert Schweitzer
21.01.2022 Dalmatian likes hiding under tree branches too. Our sheep family are so funny and inquisitive.
16.01.2022 Neo has grown so fast. He is almost bigger than his best friend Shadow.
16.01.2022 Little Neo is growing fast and is such a loving, cuddly boy. Farm animals feel pleasure and sadness, excitement and resentment, depression, fear, and pain. They are far more aware and intelligent than we ever imagined...they are individuals in their own right. Jane Goodall
14.01.2022 Early goat loves spending time here at Red Earth Retreat. She enjoys lying in the sunshine and roaming around seeing what everyone is doing. Early is also very partial to cuddles and seeing which of her animal friends have leftovers.
13.01.2022 When the animals come to us, asking for our help, will we know what they are saying? When the plants speak to us in their delicate, beautiful language,... will we be able to answer them? When the planet herself sings to us in our dreams, will we be able to wake ourselves, and act? Gary Lawless Art by Marcel Van Luis
11.01.2022 Babao the goose hasn’t had much luck lately since his partner Gandhi sadly died from a tick. Two more female geese left him but one left behind her baby gosling Pepper. We have since provided a home for Ester duck and her 10 ducklings. Babao the goose is so happy now. He has become the father figure and protector and takes his role very seriously. It’s so wonderful welcoming all our new duck family and they have welcomed Pepper the gosling. One big happy family!
11.01.2022 Oscar Wild is having rest time behind the tree wondering if anyone can see him.
11.01.2022 The natural world is the larger sacred community to which we belong. To be alienated from this community is to become destitute in all that makes us human. To damage this community is to diminish our own existence. Thomas Berry
06.01.2022 Lucy’s message for the world today.
05.01.2022 Shadow and Neo are best friends and love playing together and exploring.
05.01.2022 We all need somewhere where we feel safe. Babao the goose loves to catch up on sleep throughout the day after being the protector for the ducks at night. Chia is enjoying a rest with him.
04.01.2022 Nothing in nature lives for itself. Rivers don’t drink their own water. Trees don’t eat their own fruit. Sun doesn’t give heat for itself. Flowers don’t spread fragrance for themselves. Living for others is the rule of nature. And therein lies the secret of life. Unknown
04.01.2022 Neo is such a beautiful loving boy. He reminds us that compassion is a commitment. It’s not something we have or don’t have. It’s something we choose to practice.
