25.01.2022 What a great day to celebrate COVID free in Victoria and hug the people we love and care about Today is just a fantastic excuse to express how important are those in our lives by receiving them with our open arms. We often forget the impact a hug can have in someone else’s life; some might need it; some might just enjoy the expression of our love. Of course, for those who are not huggers, there are other ways to express our appreciation. What about a small present like c...hocolate? A simple verbal I love you or I care about you would be great to express our love. So, what are you waiting for? Who are you going to hug today? . . . . #counselling #hugday #huggingday #happyhugday #hugs #hug #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #care #love #affection #friendships #psychology #Counsellor #psychotherapy #happy2021 #happyday #happyplace #friends #familytime #supportoneanother

24.01.2022 ? There’s been a lot of chat about loneliness during this difficult time. We get it. With COVID-19 shutdowns driving people into their homes and increasing physical isolation, many of us might be feeling like we're alone right now. There’re lots of things you can do to start feeling connected again: Make contact with others virtually.... Get creative by utilising your time in activities that you enjoy. Volunteer in a role that allows you to make meaningful connections. Spend time with your pet. Get your body active. Loneliness is not just a social issue. It can be detrimental to your health and well-being by causing long-term physiological effects. Attempt to cultivate a habit of indulging in self-care is important. . . . . #loneliness #love #lonely #alone #depression #sad #anxiety #sadness #life #mentalhealth #quotes #isolation #art #feelings #covid #pain #nature #thoughts #mentalhealthawareness #lonelyquotes #instagram #brokenheart #hope #happiness #quarantine #socialdistancing #solitude #connection #connected #RedefineLife
23.01.2022 ' Depression and suicide are ranked as a leading cause of death among men, and yet they’re still far less likely to seek mental health treatment than women. The ideas of masculinity in society lead men to keep silent about their feelings and go by their day undetected. The stigma in men’s mental health is prominent in our society which has led to people suffering in silence and hopelessness. Take the initiative to break the... stigma around mental health. The smallest effort can contribute in bringing a significant difference: Starting a conversation about mental health with your peers and family. Promote mental health awareness by educating yourself and others about mental illness Encouraging to seek professional help for those in need of help. 22.01.2022 # 2020 has been a tumultuous year for everyone. In light of this difficult time, it’s even more important for us to stay connected and meaningfully check-in with those around us. A simple ' ?' can go such a long way for someone who is feeling lost. ... And remember, the conversation doesn’t stop there. If they say, '’ ', you might want to: Encourage them to explain what’s going on by asking: ‘How are you feeling about that?’ or ‘How long have you felt that way?’ Listen with an open mind Let them know you're there to help. Check whether they need urgent help. Encourage them to seek professional support. Organise a time to check-in with them again to see how they’re doing. You don’t need to be an expert or have all the answers. Simply listening and not judging them can make a difference. 11.01.2022 HAPPY 2021!! 2020 brought challenges we never thought we would have to face. Some thrived, some became resourceful and were able to utilise the time in a different way, some survived (just), some have had too little time too process, some have had too much, some have faced realities that they are at a loss on what to do with, some have grieved, some have celebrated and some have not coped at all. Whichever person you have been (for some a mixture of ALL these things), 2020... also taught us resilience, an awareness of our coping levels no matter how big or small, an awareness of our needs in regard to people time or lack of, and if nothing else, made us aware that life moves and there are many things we cant foresee or control, but amongst it things we can, both alone and together 2021 is the time to work out where all of this fits. Gratitude, people, resilience, tailor made coping strategies, embracing the things we do get to control despite the things we cant. Whoever you are, and wherever you stand, know that no 2 people are the same, but what is the same, is that we all have some answers from 2020, that we may never have learned about ourselves without it. This is where 2021 starts. Explore what you learned about you; good, bad and down right ugly and find ways to make the best of who you are with what you have. Happy new year to all, and wishing you the best of who you are in 2021. 07.01.2022 The key to setting new year’s resolutions is to keep them simple and realistic. It’s important to take time to reflect on the change you wish to see and what you realistically can do to achieve that change. 01.01.2022 Ho Ho Ho or Woe Woe Woe Christmas is a time of year that is stereotyped as laughter, love, connection, gathering together and having fun, which is absolutely true for some, but not for everyone For some, it is surrounded by stress, social anxiety, financial strain, expectation, isolation and suicidal ideation. ... If, for you, it is the season to be jolly, then embrace and love every moment. It is a precious gift for you to enjoy. If however you notice someone who is not able to do the same, the photos present some ways you may help . ------------------------------ If you are reading this and relate to the stresses Christmas brings, try and keep communication open with someone you trust to confide in, or keep a list of support numbers close by so you can talk out the things you need to, in a safe but anonymous environment. Whichever side of Christmas you are on, life circumstances put you there. It is not something you can turn on and off at will, just because a date on the calendar said so.
