While the people were listening, Jesus went on to tell a parable, because he was near Jerusalem and they imagined that the kingdom of God was going to show itself then and there. Accordingly he said, ‘A man of noble birth went to a distant country to be appointed king and afterwards return. He summoned ten of his servants and gave them ten pounds. Do business with these he told them until I get back. But his compatriots detested him and sent a delegation to follow him with this message, We do not want this man to be our king. ‘Now on his return, having received his appointment as king, he sent for those servants to whom he had given the money, to find out what profit each had made. The first came in and said, Sir, your one pound has brought in ten. Well done, my good servant! he replied Since you have proved yourself faithful in a very small thing, you shall have the government of ten cities. Then came the second and said, Sir, your one pound has made five. To this one also he said, And you shall be in charge of five cities. Next came the other and said, Sir, here is your pound. I put it away safely in a piece of linen because I was afraid of you; for you are an exacting man: you pick up what you have not put down and reap what you have not sown. You wicked servant! he said Out of your own mouth I condemn you. So you knew I was an exacting man, picking up what I have not put down and reaping what I have not sown? Then why did you not put my money in the bank? On my return I could have drawn it out with interest. And he said to those standing by, Take the pound from him and give it to the man who has ten pounds. And they said to him, But, sir, he has ten pounds. I tell you, to everyone who has will be given more; but from the man who has not, even what he has will be taken away. ‘But as for my enemies who did not want me for their king, bring them here and execute them in my presence.’ When he had said this he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem. 24.01.2022 Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/BXzVhL6Zfw8 Gospel Matthew 8:28-34 The Gadarene swine... When Jesus reached the country of the Gadarenes on the other side of the lake, two demoniacs came towards him out of the tombs creatures so fierce that no one could pass that way. They stood there shouting, ‘What do you want with us, Son of God? Have you come here to torture us before the time?’ Now some distance away there was a large herd of pigs feeding, and the devils pleaded with Jesus, ‘If you cast us out, send us into the herd of pigs.’ And he said to them, ‘Go then’, and they came out and made for the pigs; and at that the whole herd charged down the cliff into the lake and perished in the water. The swineherds ran off and made for the town, where they told the whole story, including what had happened to the demoniacs. At this the whole town set out to meet Jesus; and as soon as they saw him they implored him to leave the neighbourhood.

20.01.2022 Link Youtube: https://youtu.be/3d3LGCPaAiI A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to Saint Luke 17:11-19 On the way to Jerusalem Jesus travelled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. As he entered one of the villages, ten lepers came to meet him. They stood some way off and called to him, ‘Jesus! Master! Take pity on us.’ When he saw them he said, ‘Go and show yourselves to the priests.’ Now as they were going away they were cleansed. Finding himself cured, one of ...them turned back praising God at the top of his voice and threw himself at the feet of Jesus and thanked him. The man was a Samaritan. This made Jesus say, ‘Were not all ten made clean? The other nine, where are they? It seems that no one has come back to give praise to God, except this foreigner.’ And he said to the man, ‘Stand up and go on your way. Your faith has saved you.’ See more

We his brothers in the present day are immensely grateful for his legacy within our Congregation. St. John Neumann’s example inspires us, and his prayerful intercession alongside his fellow Redemptorist saints, Alphonsus Liguori, Clement Hofbauer, and Gerard Majella, sustains us as we continue the Redemptorist mission in the Church and world today.

16.01.2022 Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/cC5NGUbWIyw Gospel Matthew 7:15-20 You will be able to tell them by their fruits... Jesus said to his disciples: ‘Beware of false prophets who come to you disguised as sheep but underneath are ravenous wolves. You will be able to tell them by their fruits. Can people pick grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles? In the same way, a sound tree produces good fruit but a rotten tree bad fruit. A sound tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor a rotten tree bear good fruit. Any tree that does not produce good fruit is cut down and thrown on the fire. I repeat, you will be able to tell them by their fruits.’

11.01.2022 Youtube: https://youtu.be/bgGOl28peig A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to Saint Luke 21:12-19 Jesus said to his disciples: ‘Men will seize you and persecute you; they will hand you over to the synagogues and to imprisonment, and bring you before kings and governors because of my name and that will be your opportunity to bear witness. Keep this carefully in mind: you are not to prepare your defence, because I myself shall give you an eloquence and a wisdom that none of your opponents will be able to resist or contradict. You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relations and friends; and some of you will be put to death. You will be hated by all men on account of my name, but not a hair of your head will be lost. Your endurance will win you your lives.’
