09.01.2022 Today is the feast of the Redemptorist Ukrainian Catholic Martyrs. Sometimes witnessing to Christ and his love among us will literally cost us our lives. Most often it will not. Traditionally, we have given a pre-eminence to those whose witness to Christ and his love did actually cost them their lives. And that is why from among so many Redemptorists who lived witnessing to the Most Holy Redeemer, Bishop Peter Stasiuk CSsR singles out with joy the following five men whom we h...onour and imitate. ~ Blessed Mykola (Nicholas) Carneckyj, C.Ss.R. 1884-1959 ~ Blessed Zynovij Kovalyk, C.Ss.R. 1903-1941 ~ Blessed Ivan Ziatyk, C.Ss.R. 1899-1952 ~ Blessed Vsevolod Velyckovskj, C.Ss.R. 1903-1973 Ukrainian Catholic Martyrs Prayer https://www.cssrao.com/bread4today/?id=2434 Watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9XoeS_S2uio&t

05.01.2022 In the various accounts, Martha appears to exemplify the host with the most, representing a more apostolic Christian way of living and attending to the more corporal needs of those in her company. In contrast, her sister, Mary, seems to represent the more contemplative Christian way of living, focusing more on spiritual needs (including the importance of waiting, listening, and communing with God through prayer and contemplative dialogue), which Jesus makes a point of praising.

04.01.2022 Making a preferential option for the poor and marginalised is not a political or ideological choice; it lies at the very heart of the Gospel, Pope Francis said. It is the key criterion of Christian authenticity.
