25.01.2022 It's springtime and the kangaroo paws are blooming. Why not book a few days away after the school holidays? The following link will take you straight to our booking page: https://apac.littlehotelier.com//redgateforestretreatdirec

24.01.2022 Interesting quote from Abraham Lincoln. Also interesting that a shadow is cast by illuminating only one side of the subject . . . Today's photo is taken from the steer's west paddock, with the edge of the 50 acre forest in the background and a tiny section of the bluegum plantation on the left.

22.01.2022 Humpday humour! The backdrop is our steers at the base of the paddock, near our new Thompson Road berm. You can just see Kanana Chalet on the right. And, if you look closely, I think the steer looking at the camera is actually laughing . . .

22.01.2022 A bovine intervention in the plantation today .

22.01.2022 This beautiful view is in the back yard of our Kanana Chalet. The leucospermum are eye-catching.

21.01.2022 Vibrant yellow flowers on the acacia along our driveway.

21.01.2022 Pre-sunset view across a winter dam.

19.01.2022 The flora for this backdrop is from the amazing Redgate Beach, just at the end of the road.

19.01.2022 Picture taken on a beautiful winter's day; cattle in front of Kanana Chalet with the 50 acre forest in the background.

19.01.2022 Georgie loves wandering in our 50 acre forest!

18.01.2022 Late afternoon, looking north across the top paddock.

18.01.2022 What would you write to describe this beautiful sunrise across the sheep's paddock?

18.01.2022 The beautiful Sally and Georgie in front of the bluegum plantation.

17.01.2022 This wonderful view is across our front paddock with Wongin and Kanana chalets on the left and our 50 acre forest straight ahead in the distance.

16.01.2022 So true for 2020! Lovely lavender with Maya's back yard in the background.

15.01.2022 You can never truly know what's going on in another person's world. Try approaching with kindness.

15.01.2022 These beauties are from a tree in our 50 acre forest. Exquisite!

15.01.2022 This is the start of one of our journeys - a foray into essential oil production. The first eight rows of our plantation are eucalyptus globulus trees so when the plantation harvest occurred last year, we cut the globulus trees to the ground to allow them to coppice. It is the coppice which can then be harvested for eucalyptus oil. An interesting journey indeed!

14.01.2022 Mid-morning photo of the path through our bluegum plantation. The sheep enjoy wandering amongst the trees.

14.01.2022 Be inspired by the spring flowers to reset your day's resolutions.

14.01.2022 Eight rows of our plantation are Eucalyptus Globulus trees which will be used to produce eucalyptus oil. This photo shows the early morning sun on the coppice that will eventually be used in the first harvest.

14.01.2022 Peeking through our plantation.

13.01.2022 Backdrop of wave foam on the sand at Redgate Beach, just at the end of the road.

12.01.2022 Why not give your brain a break and mindfully disconnect for an hour today?

12.01.2022 Pretty in pink at our Kanana Chalet.

09.01.2022 Peppi trees (agonis flexuosa) are native to southwest WA. Their tiny flowers this time of year are exquisite.

09.01.2022 Late afternoon photo looking north with the plantation on the right, Kanana Chalet straight ahead and the main dam in the distance on the left. A great place for quiet contemplation.

08.01.2022 In 2020, can we talk about resilience? By definition, resilience is the ability to be happy, successful, etc. again after something difficult or bad has happened. We find happiness in sharing the beauty of our little patch of paradise in WA's southwest.

06.01.2022 We've hit a milestone . . . 1000 page likes for Redgate Forest Retreat! Thank you so much for your support. We put a lot of effort into providing quality accommodation and we look forward to welcoming you on your next visit to WA's beautiful southwest. From the Redgate Forest Retreat Team.

04.01.2022 The Western Rosella, also known as the Yellow-cheeked or Stanley Rosella, is the smallest rosella and is endemic to southwest WA. We have a few who love the olive, acacia and casuarina trees along the driveway.
