25.01.2022 Looking for a cool new way to make your IG Stories stand out and get more engagement? Check out this mini-tutorial: Select the image you wish to use ... Click on the 'Draw' icon at the top (squiggly line) Select the colour you want (you can hold on the colours to choose more) Hold on your image for 2 seconds until the whole screen fills Select the Eraser tool at the top, and scribble away! 24.01.2022 We have spoken about the importance of using stories to increase your reach and get eyes on your content, but to take it a step further, here are 5 thing you should be including on every story for maximum exposure: 1. Filter IG loves it when you use their features, and it will give your story a boost to promote it to other people so they use it too ... 2. Location tag People will often search by location, so make sure you include this as an extra way to be found 3. GIF Firstly, they bring a bit of a fun and 'life' to the story, but again, it's using an IG feature so you will get a boost in exposure 4. Hashtags Take a couple of your larger hashtags which you use regularly, over 5m, and use them consistently. IG will allow up to 10, but build up to this slowly, start with 2-3 for a couple of weeks and grow from there. You will soon see them being picked up in your insights, so extra exposure - bingo! 5. Tags Tag people or companies who are relevant to the story. If you are including a product, tag the brand, if you're on a cruise, tag the cruise line. You never know who may see it and share it! 20.01.2022 If you have a Business or Creator account on Instagram, you have access to your analytics, or 'Insights'. Are you using these? They are pure gold for planning your content. You can find the 'insights' button just below your bio on your profile page. When you go into it, the first thing you'll see is your overview, telling you:... * Number of accounts reached * Content Interactions *Total Followers *Most recent Posts *Most recent Stories You can click into all of these for more information. For me, the most useful is to tap into 'total followers'. This will give you info on: *Growth *Top Locations *Age Range *Gender Breakdown *Most Active Times This last one is where you need to pay particular attention. The peak time is when you need to be posting your content to maximise your reach! Go through the days and times and note when you should be going live with your content. 19.01.2022 So...we're back in lockdown again! I thought that was just a Melbourne thing, but of course now that we're in Sydney, we've received the 'stay at home order' here! 19.01.2022 I should love social media in my job, but right now, I have to admit, it's driving me nuts!! Instagram usually only does one or two big changes per year, but I've lost count for this year already. I've renamed Facebook 'Glitchbook', because, seriously...sort those bugs out Zuckerberg!! 17.01.2022 Are your priorities wrong?? I had a great chat with my mentor recently, we were talking about feeling swamped with all the work that goes into getting a new business up and running, and she asked me a really poignant question... How much time are you spending on money-making activities, versus other 'stuff'?... Lightbulb moment. We often get so caught up in the marketing of our businesses, perfecting everything we do before making it live, being part of groups, helping out friends, giving lots of free 'value' into our groups... But none of these are actually bringing in clients or paying the bills. Which is also kind of ironic, because my main focus with my own clients is finding ways to bring more customers to them and how to increase their income! So, maybe this is something for you to think about. Look at your 'To Do' list and work out what percentage of your tasks are actually going to bring you your next paying customer... because if it doesn't, it needs to be pushed down in priorities. 07.01.2022 Leading on from yesterday's post... We've established that you need to look at your To Do list and ensure that you've prioritised 'money-making' tasks above all the other things you need to do each day. Now let's break that down further. So many of us say we're 'busy' and never have enough hours in the day, but do you ever get to the end of the day and wonder what exactly you've achieved, even though you haven't stopped for a second?... I have those days. We get busy being busy, but without a structure, not much is actually being done. Consider blocking out your time. Allocate a realistic amount of time to a task, set an alarm if you need to, and turn off all other distractions. Once you've completed the time set, shut it down and move to the next task. Prioritise everything that MUST be done today, but allow a small amount of time to those with no deadline but still need to be done and are just rolling from week to week (I know you have those, we all do!). 02.01.2022 So, I have emphasised that engagement is key to growing on social media. I've covered the key methods of following, likes, engagement and DMs, but here's another trick for you... Approximately 15 minutes before you post at your peak time (as per your insights - comment below if you need help with this), comment and like on accounts you are following, as well as accounts using the same hashtags which you're about to use. For example, if y...ou're using #luxurytravel you should go to your Explore page and search for that tag, then comment on potential clients also using that hashtag. Do this 15 minutes after you post too, because getting engagement to your content asap tells IG that you have posted valuable content and it will extend your reach. Want more tips like this?
