So what better time than now to finally create a Facebook page. So who are we and what do we do? 14.01.2022 Did you know? The process of making the compost that we sell is a complex and time consuming one. Manure is sourced from local farms (including cow, pig and chicken manure) and along with sawdust, green waste and hay, it is mixed together. It takes approximately 6 months to cook and cure with a constant, continual process of wetting down and turning over. In that time the pile has halved in size as it is broken down. The temperature can get up to 65C which is hot enough to kill all pathogens and weed seeds. The piles are turned 5 times in the process of curing and are made to the Australian Standard (AS 4454). We have compost for sale - $40 per metre or $120 for 3 metres including delivery. Call Travis (0417059938) to arrange for contactless delivery.

13.01.2022 Here's a quick little snippet of the mulching process. You can see the size of the green waste going into the mulcher. It would take a long time for those logs to break down into small enough pieces to use in the compost if we were to leave them as they are. This just quickens the beginning of the composting process for us.

11.01.2022 It's been a big couple of days out at our compost site with over 1000 metres of green waste mulched. This is the beginning of the composting process, where the larger trees and logs need to be mulched first, in order to begin breaking down much quicker. It was a beautiful Autumn night, working until after sunset.

09.01.2022 Last week we were asked by Amy at CohunaCo to submit a video for her Small Business Shout Out initiative. Our video is featured here along with some other fabulous local businesses. Amy is doing some amazing things at CohunaCo in showcasing what small businesses we have right here in Cohuna. https://www.facebook.com/watch/live/?v=656951448587396

02.01.2022 Here's Lenny, taking us on a very quick tour of the compost piles!
