24.01.2022 Quite a interesting Sunday at the Redgum Restaurant. Had a lovely group of people in for lunch, did a "breakfast in a bun" order, (its actually a standard Sunday morning treat for a hard working local farmers seeding team) Plated up take-away dinners for a farmers crew that pick them up each evening. Got set up for another seeding crew that will be back in today for the week. 22.01.2022 Due to a few large groups of contractors coming into The Redgum Village our Redgum Restaurant has had to take a back seat for a wee while :( It is nice to see the Restaurant busy with guests from the Village, it has created a nice atmosphere and a real attraction to companies wanting a complete Accommodation / Restaurant and Meeting package. We will be doing a handful of Christmas Functions this year for local businesses, organisations and larger family gatherings. 22.01.2022 Redgum Restaurant is open for bookings only, Family, Businesses, Groups, Clubs and Associations. Sunday Brunch just didnt make the cut and we werent going to spend the thousands required to make into a real Cafe, just too risky with such a small population. You can still book a Sunday brunch but we need to know by Saturday at the latest. Creating dishes and keeping guests happy by continually raising the bar is what keeps our own masteress chef motivated. 19.01.2022 Redgum Village is well positioned with a new mine in the area and the go ahead for the Yandin wind farm. Doing the right thing we at long last found a solar and... battery package to suit our busiest needs, 5pm to 8pm. Will know in next couple months from our power bill if a good choice. $60k over 5 years and no deposit sounds a lot for 22kw solar and batteries, until looking at our existing power bill of 2k per month consistently and some months 2.5k over the last 24 months. Add another $900 a month for LPG. Topped off with a quote increase of 19% for next 2 years from our existing provider!! (yip we shopping around) Replacing gas hot water units with elect heat pumps too. If looking or needing accommodation and meals while in the Dandaragan area call in or phone and we will happily help you with what you need. Once again a great bunch of people and so looking forward to many more of these occasions. 15.01.2022 Redgum Restaurant had the pleasure of hosting the Red Hatters for there 10th anniversary on the 18th May. They chose a Grazing Table for their luncheon which Gaylene happily obliged with. 10.01.2022 Interesting two weeks in the Redgum Restaurant / Function Room / Redgum Village. 75 guests from the MND mystery tour staying over and having a dress up night, l...ive music, BBQ, and breaky for a really special cause. They raised several thousand dollars over the weekend, bloody awesome. Then we had 15 for a 4 day empowering boot camp warmly assisted by Joy Morgan leading a tai chi session on saturday morning. Some really interesting sessions on self love, reading your face for manly and feminine connections, working on your vision structure implementation and people to put clarity in your life..I happily admit I sat in on a few of these sessions and was very rewarding. 10.01.2022 Redgum Caf is not a restaurant as such, it is the extended dinning room for in-house guests of Redgum Village. All meals are from the buffet in the main Kitchen where guests self serve and take their meal next door into the Restaurant / Caf for a more comfortable dinning experience. And the fact their is more space in there :) Occasionally we will do a a-la-carte restaurant meal for a special occasion and if we have a quiet period with in-house guests.... Photos of groups of people and specific dishes throughout this page are from the Redgum Caf / Restaurant when we did use it for those specific purposes. They were fun to do and we learnt a lot, but now a days our prime food delivery is the plentiful home style cooking buffet system that 98% of our guests prefer. Yes we still get some that want table service, well we just cannot please everyone and right now majority rules and what works best is the Redgum Buffet :) #redgumvillage #redgumcafe #dandaragan

09.01.2022 Christmas and New Years celebrations at the Redgum Restaurant / Dandaragan Function Centre done and dusted for another year wooohooo. We had some lovely christmas functions in the Redgum Cafe / Restaurant in dec 2017. We kept them limited to groups and organisations that wanted a real chrissy atmosphere without us spending $$$ on advertising. Those whom attended were not disappointed and your awesome comments and gratitude was warmly welcomed. The number of functions was p...erfect especially after a busy november - december with accommodation guests. From family and Business A-La-Carte and Buffet dinners to organisation finger food evenings and luncheons. Gaylene out did herself again and due to Redgum Village business circumstances mainly by herself too!! If its not power pole replacement trucks with their crews staying here its the RedHatters cars in for thei...r restaurant lunch and tomorrow their will be the wandoo bus tour group in. Not forgetting our favourite seniors get together on the 2nd thursday of every month. Nice to see such a variety of vehicles in the carpark with a great variety of guests.:) All in on the same dates, just different times of days and different accommodation styles. 05.01.2022 Say Yes then work out the How....I took a booking for a car group of people into The Redgum Restaurant about 8 weeks ago. Its 11.50am today so we have just on 6 hrs to be ready for the evening dinner. Then 18 Touring Classic cars come up the driveway 10 mins early for their lunch. LUNCH ... FURKKKKKKK. I said to my wife what the f.. we going to do? She said turn the oven on get pots on the stove and ring Kathy to come over now to set the cutlery, ice buckets, glasses, deco...rations, she knows what to do. 24 hours earlier.. A couple booked in for a 10am brunch for today, would normally so no, my wife this time said yes. Last night we set up the tables and bain-marie in the restaurant for the 36 and a table for two. Would normally so no darling Ill do it tomorrow. Because we said yes to the table for two at 10am my wife started preparing the vegetables for tonights dinner seeing she was already in the kitchen. Fortunately, Gaylene cooked the roast beef last nite and only needed slicing and re-heating The chicken mignons would only take 20mins, and still needed to be prepared. Had Gaylene not said yes to the couple for 10am, today would have been a disaster. The 36 started their buffet lunch of roast beef, rich brown gravy, chicken mignons, roast potatoes, pumpkin spinach, feta, pine nuts and herb hot salad, sesame and maple syrup carrots, broccoli capsicum bacon in a cheese sauce, hot rice and quinoa dish, mint and cumin sweet potato at 12.40pm Lunch was 10 mins late. Followed by pavlova, lemon tart, fruit salad and sticky date pudding with a rich caramel sauce Even had time to serve cool drinks and coffee. All because my wife said Yes and worked out the How.. 04.01.2022 Sunday the 14th May weather forecast still showing sunny Morning leading to possible late rain Sunday evening. Looks liken the decking at Redgum Restaurant will be the place to be on Mums day morning leaning to the purpose decorated tables inside the restaurant as the day progresses. Still get Mum home before it rains or we fire up the heater and have a cosy lunch, relax and enjoy the moment. Am sure many farmers mums / wives will be happy with a late shower or two so the...ir hubbies get out of the house and onto the tractor for Monday 8 Groups booked so far, still room for 5 more, one for every hour from 10 till 3. And well yes sorry mum but you might have to pick up the phone or reply here to book the table on your families behalf, bloody kids these days!! :) We can still take 1 table (Group) every hr from 10 till 3 without stressing anyone. 5 tables to go...... will we see you here? 03.01.2022 The Rotary Club of Moora had a short meeting / gathering before sitting down to a light buffet meal at the Redgum Restaurant. A choice of two a la carte meals of chicken mignon or redgum marinated rump steak were on offer. A big thankyou to Pete for choosing the Redgum Restaurant for their evening out. We enjoyed the evening and look forward to the other clubs and organisations that have booked in just before and after Easter.

03.01.2022 Great to have the dpt of environment and water here at the Redgum Function Centre for their conference. Skymuster internet, projector screen, good ole phone lan...dline, tables and seating to suit. Gaylenes lunch on arrival, (I really need to get a couple video comments from people so we dont look like we are blowing our own trumpet), but they appeared very happy with the food. An added bonus several of the group stayed over for a buffet dinner, a nights accommodation and breakfast with a take out lunch the next day. 01.01.2022 Christmas in July for the Subaru Car Club from Perth was a highlight of the month here at the Redgum Village / Restaurant. Booked months ago on a weekend snuggl...ed in between our group of guests replacing power poles. Setting up the Restaurant to a Christmas theme this time of year certainly felt different, but seeing the smiles and happiness of the car club guests over the evening certainly made it all worthwhile. The gift giving they did among themselves could have had a lot to do with the cheering and woo hoooing :) Gaylene getting back from Melbourne at 3am on the Saturday morning didnt dampen her enthusiasm to ensure the evening went without a hitch.
