24.01.2022 Plenty rain usually means days off for road working crews and other guests that work outside. One day we will be feeding 50 the next day 20 or 32 as was this last weekend. Farmers will be loving it and others frustrated by it. Whatever the weather does we work around it. It is great we have a versatile chef here at Redgum. Our regular chef Jules who has cooked at Redgum for the last 17 months is on a two month leave (lucky b) and we found Sally who is filling in perfectly. ... Here is a sample of how Sally spoils our current guests working in between the rain showers. #redgumvillage #deliciousfood #buffetdinner

21.01.2022 The revamp of Redgum continues with over 200 trees and shrubs planted in the last 2 months. 120 alone on our western boundary, and this time the correct trees not 20m high gum trees :) Vertical gardens also planted between two rows of buildings plus a fernery and finally some attention to our own place. Even added a couple water features. Our goal is to make staying long term at Redgum more relaxing and appealing by adding greenery and maintaining lawns and gardens. A new pa...int job on the revamped buildings is also ongoing. Might be slower now our awesome Estonian couple Kuir and Paula had to head back home, also our human bobcat man - Kuir you legend you. Have to do it myself now ......... :( with the help of Damian Brown and his mechanical bobcat :) Gosh its so much fun painting, planting, digging, digging, shifting gravel and dirt ( that all had to be brought in ) and more shifting dirt and gravel :) Almost completed the beautifying of the entrance to Redgum and hence the entry to Dandaragan from the south end on the left, next to the blue tree. Long overdue on our behalf. And thankyou to the Dandaragan shire for allowing us to help out beautifying the southern west entry to our lovely country township.. #redgumvillage #dandaragan #landscaping

19.01.2022 Have a project on a wind farm with International employees? Mine site workers?

17.01.2022 Its always nice to start a new year with a good booking. Get a good start. 2021 was shaping up for a very quiet start, until a few fires appeared in the Dandaragan Shire. Not close enough to harm the Dandaragan Township but plenty harm happening South North and West towards Lancelin WA. As it turned out a quiet start to the year allowed us to take any many fire crews that needed a bed. One group of six, then a group of 18, now another group of 18 and suddenly we are almost f...ull! One hiccup so far was, we had all hot water units turned off over Chrissy and we missed one that didn't want to fire up so to speak. Had it sorted by the morning. One of 16 mind you. Full house tomorrow and its not often you pray for ideal weather so your guests can go home. Glad to help out but also praying the fires can all be put out so all these men and ladies can go home safe and put a stop to the burning of farmland, property, wildlife and Bush. Once again we thank our brave army of frontline fire fighters :) #dandaragan #firefighters #redgumvillage #ParksandWildlife

17.01.2022 Regional lockdown coming in tomorrow, so what does this mean for our guests staying at Redgum Village? If you are working in the Dandaragan shire, re a wind farm, mine related project, road repairs etc.. and live outside the wheatbelt region boundary then you will need permission from your company to cross the regional border, eg from perth or Geraldton to Dandaragan. As far as we know your employer has the paperwork necessary for you to do this and they should have been in c...ontact with you by now. If not please call them and ask, better to ask before getting to your regional border as we are in unchartered waters here and don't know how the persons patrolling the borders will react. We do believe regional border roads will have a substantial road block with concrete bollards and a military presence, a bit like check point Charlie slight exaggeration maybe but that's what we have heard and we are taking this quite seriously. We will do what we have to do to enhance getting back to a wee bit of normality although I am certain we will not be going back to the ways hospitality and large group gatherings were pre Corona (Covid-19 ) virus days. We are grateful that we are still able to give you accommodation and prepare meals. Yes they are in a different format and a lot of changes to suit govt and individual company requirements, alas it is working and ensuring you are as safe as can be given the current circumstances. Lets ensure we all do our part so the whole state, country and planet can return to a safer sociable society. Photo attached shows our new way of handling food where the guest gets everything served to them and in takeaway type containers that they can eat in rooms seperated from the food preparation and serving area. Other pic is our new combie oven that enables even better prepared food . #redgumvillage #corona #dandaragan #campkitchens #Covid19

17.01.2022 Definitely all fun and games in and around Cataby in the Dandaragan shire at the moment Yandin wind farm seems to be tracking along at the same time Iluka mine seems to be gathering momentum and throw in some major roadworks just to add a bit of flavour. Certainly a boom patch for Cataby and the surrounding region. Great to see Moora getting there fear share of the accommodation for the mountain of workers required for these projects. One can only wonder what would be if Dand...Continue reading

15.01.2022 Nice spot to Chill out after a hard week in the office :)

13.01.2022 Without Gaylene Bradshaw Redgum Village would not have a heart and a atmosphere that guests can feel like home. Here is a post I put on my own timeline and feel it needs to be shared here on our business page, after all Redgum Village is Evan and Gaylene and family This is personal to us and we want to share it with you, so please enjoy or delete :) 26 years and still going strong, happy wedding anniversary my darling The mother of our three awesome children Elle, Jonatho...n and Cheyanne. The love you share with us and for others from all walks of life is noted. A real life mother and step grandmother to many people non related. Gaylene Bradshaw you are the back bone to our business and mother hen to many guests. It is time to put yourself out front darling and be a bit selfish to yourself because you bloody well deserve it and self love these days is so important. You will still be the person you are and with more self love and time for you yourself and the person you hide within you the greater this world will be. From my point of view without you by my side and slowly but surely steering me in the right direction over the years I would have run off the rails years ago. A life without you and our children would have been a life not worth living. So Thankyou for ensuring I left a dark side of me behind even though it took years for me to see it. No bloody virus will dampen this day and our many years ahead. It’s just another challenge and one we will easily conquer. After all we been thru in our business over the last 20 years this is a just another river we have to cross. We have seen a lot worse than this and come out stronger in the other side. So fortunate that our personal lives have thrived as the years roll by. Here is to today my love and the many more ahead including our future together ( outside of Redgum ) Love you to the moon and back. (Sorry kids I had to steal that one from you this time ) #weddings #lifelong #togetherforlife #redgumvillage

09.01.2022 Know someone that may be interested in this position? Please share. Thankyou.

08.01.2022 The new, well couple weeks now, layout for social distancing for food and dining in the inside area, outside under the sails or on the decking or in your room. Redgum food all dished up in those awesome disposable tubs, disposable cutlery, bags and napkins and gloves and anything else that we can make disposable. ( so glad we get Damian from Ajax Contracting in Moora to collect our skip bin every week now ) Have attached a couple pics showing a few upgrades and changes happen...ing around Redgum Village to cater for our wind farm and mining guests from essential work places with the current RRR in place (regulations, rules, recommendations from WA govt ) The hardest part is not knowing what tomorrow will bring, with so many businesses closing and or readjusting to stay open we can only do what we can do and ensure we do what we have to do no matter what. So far everything we are doing is workable, doable and we are happy to do our bit to make WA and Australia a safer place to live and work. #redgumvillage #fecelectrical #turquoisecoastplumbing #socialdistancing

05.01.2022 Good Friday, a commercial freezer full of food and a defrost issue that trips the power out during the middle of the night. Manually defrosting a freezer at 5am sucks so who do you call? All sorted, thankyou Scotty. And val for organising the fix it guy :) now I can sleep tonight on our wedding anniversary, well afterwards ..

04.01.2022 More Wind farms for Dandaragan? Time will tell . https://www.tiltrenewables.com/a/Waddi-Wind-and-Solar-Farm/

03.01.2022 One way traffic 1.5m apart, we serve you, just point and ask what you want on your plate ... no its not a prison line up :)

02.01.2022 Upgrades and Renovations to Redgum Village will always be ongoing although it is great to have the major renovations completed (and keeping within the original footprint) Still plenty to go on with and had some great helpers over the last couple months, from painters to builders to our handy handyman and our new cook who is fitting in very nicely and our new local lady helping with the cleaning. Sooo looking forward to the Chrissy break when we will leave our beloved Village ...with our handy person live in caretaker... So lucky to have such a great person on board. Even the driveway and entry getting a haircut and guidance to visitors and guests to ensure a simple pathway to the office :) Check out our gallery page on our website: http://www.redgumvillage.com.au//gallery-of-redgum-refurb/ #redgumvillage #dandaraganaccommodation #yandinwindfarm
