12.01.2022 Due to circumstances beyond our control the Stage 3 excursion to Canberra has needed to be cancelled for 2020. We are now going to Morisset Outdoor Camp on Friday 30 October for a whole day of fun activities leaving school early in the morning and returning around 5pm. Most of our Stage 3 students attended Morisset camp when they were in Stage 2 so students know all about the adventurous and fun activities that await them such as the giant swing, canoeing, high ropes etc. A l...ist of our activities and a day plan will be sent out closer to our departure date. The fully inclusive cost, including transport, food and all activities for the day is $50 per student and is based on the majority of Year 5 and Year 6 children attending. The school has still subsidised the cost of this excursion day to support the Stage 3 families. Money previously paid for the deposit for Canberra may be rolled over onto this excursion. A note has gone home with Stage 3 students today. The office will be in contact with families next week that have paid more than $50 towards the Canberra excursion.

06.01.2022 URGENT PASSPORT CHECK-IN The university contacted us today to inform us that there has been a change of date for the collection of participants’ final hours. They want to have the information to them by Friday 18th September. We will need to meet with everyone on Thursday 10th of September to validate and collect their total hours. Make sure you have added all your child’s recent activities into their passports and have had them signed off by the appropriate person. Please re...mind your child to bring their passport to school with them on Thursday and to attend the meeting at lunchtime. We will be giving reminders each day as well. There can be no extensions as this will give us time to collate the information and get it in before the university’s cut-off. If we don’t see your child’s passport they may not graduate as the university will use whatever hours had been submitted earlier in the year. If your child is away on Thursday please make arrangements to get their passport to us before the end of the week. Thank you for your understanding. Jan Audet & Melissa O’Donnell
05.01.2022 Book week celebrations today included many Curious Creatures and Wild Minds.
05.01.2022 The staff at Redhead Public School would like to thank parents and carers for their ongoing support and understanding during these COVID-19 times. We understand parent/carers frustrations around not being allowed on site and our drop off and pick up procedures. As previously outlined families allocated the Hutchinson Street gate are more than welcome to use one of the alternate gates if it is too busy or more convenient. While at the beginning of our return to school from COV...ID-19 the parking spaces on Hutchinson Street were left open for a temporary ‘kiss and ride’, unfortunately, it is not possible or permitted for this to remain as a ‘kiss and ride’ area. We are currently working with council and the assets team to have our current kiss and ride moved to a more convenient location. At this point in time there is limited parking for staff, however, we are working with our Director of Educational Leadership and the School Infrastructure Team to have the staff parking area on Beach Road become compliable with work, health and safety regulations. As part of our ongoing work with the School Infrastructure Team around the safe entry and exit of our school opening the back gate is deemed a high risk to student safety and not permitted. We are hoping that working with the School Infrastructure Team we will be able to improve parking and accessibility to our school site. Thank you again for your understanding and please use alternate drop off and pick up gates if necessary.
04.01.2022 2021 New Uniform Expression Of Interest - Closes Monday After an extensive uniform review and consultation the school is very excited to launch our new school uniform commencing 2021. There is a 3 year transition period to comply with the new uniform. To have uniforms available for the start of 2021 we are asking families to complete an expression of interest form. This can be completed in two ways:... 1. The form attached and returned to the office by Monday 14th September 2020 2. Using the link https://forms.gle/8ND1Wwi1a7AQcD7d9 to access a google form to be completed by Monday 14th September 2020 There are two options for ordering and purchasing uniforms: 1. Ordering one of our starter packs which is outlined in the attached document 2. Ordering individual items The school has offered to subsidise $10 off a starter pack or one individual shirt as an introductory offer. Payment is due on delivery of the uniforms in Term 4 2020. If you wish to make payments please do via the Redhead Public School website https://redhead-p.schools.nsw.gov.au/ and click on the 'make a payment' button. For your convenience there is a size chart attached. The uniform review committee is working in partnership with the P&C to ensure a smooth transition to our new uniform. The P&C will continue to sell old stock. The old sport shirt will be on sale soon and are a great purchase for infants students as paint shirts to be worn over uniforms when painting. The quality of clothing items and pricing has been considered within the implementation and a new uniform policy is in draft form and will be tabled at the next P&C meeting. Please remember it is a three year transition with the changes to our new uniform. If any families require student assistance please do not hesitate to contact the school. Kind Regards, Mrs Lisa Monaghan Principal Redhead Public School
