23.01.2022 Final of the Minor Singles played today, Our Minor singles Champion is Rose Sharkey 25 and Runner up Lyn Robertson 21. Congratulations to both of you. The game could have gone either way, it was end for end , both got to 11 each, Lyn got ahead then Rose came back at her until they were 19 each then it was hard fought until the end. A great friendly game to mark.

21.01.2022 With regard to district mixed pairs, because there has been a team withdrawal due to illness, the draw was redone to eliminate all the byes which were evident w...ith the original 33 team draw. Now there will be 8 section winners then we will do an 8 team knockout draw to decide winner. Unfortunately we won’t get this event finished in one day with the new format. It’s been a nightmare getting this new tournament spreadsheet set up, with two greens of eight rinks etc. When I get back to Newcastle after my Christmas break with family, I will post the revised 32 team draw on Facebook and also email out to all the skips on Tuesday. Regards Gayle See more

18.01.2022 This is a post from Seaforth BC Victoria one of the oldest Clubs in Australia. How true. Something to think about and make you smile. Kindly submitted by Sharyn... Hudson. Thanks Sharyn T'was a week before Christmas, And all through the town, People wore masks, That covered their frown. The frown had begun Way back in the Spring, When a global pandemic Changed everything. They called it corona, But unlike the beer, It didn’t bring good times, It didn’t bring cheer. Airplanes were grounded, Travel was banned. Borders were closed Across air, sea and land. As the world entered lockdown To flatten the curve, The economy halted, And folks lost their nerve. From March to July We rode the first wave, People stayed home, They tried to behave. When summer emerged The lockdown was lifted. But away from caution, Many folks drifted. Now it’s December And cases are spiking, Wave two has arrived, Much to our disliking. It’s true that this year Has had sadness a plenty, We’ll never forget The year 2020. And just ‘round the corner - The holiday season, But why be merry? Is there even one reason? To decorate the house And put up the tree, Who will see it, No one but me. But outside my window The rain gently falls, And I think to myself, Let’s deck the halls! So, I gather the ribbon, The garland and bows, As I play those old carols, My happiness grows. Christmas is not cancelled And neither is hope. If we lean on each other, I know we can cope Merry Xmas
17.01.2022 The Seaside Fusion has some a couple of new desserts to try $5.00. From all accounts very nice indeed.
17.01.2022 I was watching this and thought there were a couple of ladies we know Paula From Warners Bay and Marie from Kotara, or ladies that looked very much like them, possibly escaped before lockdown to Queensland I am sure there were a lot of our Ladies from all over who have done that. Great area that is for sure.

01.01.2022 We had a wonderful day at The Greens North Sydney playing bowls with North Sydney RSL Sub-Branch, North Sydney Bowlo and veterans and their families from the lo...cal community. The venue turned on the weather and hospitality. With coaching, games and a closely fought out exhibition match between members of Bowls Australia and North Sydney Bowlo, the day had something for everyone! Special thanks to the volunteers from North Sydney Bowlo, Bowls Australia and RSL NSW Bowls, especially Steve Glasson for taking their time to help and pass on their love and knowledge of Bowls. Thanks also has to go to the sponsors for the day The Greens North Sydney, without you this event would not have gone ahead. Looking forward to the next event in January in Ballina! #vsamovement #StrongerTogether
