16.01.2022 An update on injured club member Niall from mum Rachael: he's back home after surgery. The ACL graft went as planned and the meniscus repair was done, but it was a little closer to a vein than they wanted which may restrict complete healing. It will just be a wait and see process once he's back to sport to see if it holds out, which is not ideal. It is what it is and he's very ready to get on with his recovery." Thanks Rachael, and Niall - everyone at Redland City Gymsports wishes you a full and speedy recovery. Can't wait to see your smiling face back on the tramps!

11.01.2022 Some of our club reps at the State Levels Trampoline competition this weekend at Caloundra. A nice collection of medals after day 1. Good luck everyone competing tomorrow.

08.01.2022 Our local not-for-profit gymnastics, trampoline and tumbling club re-opened after the school holidays on Monday July 13th. The reduced Stage 3 restrictions meant we could revert to a closer to normal timetable, operating under a COVID-safe health and hygiene plan. Spots are available for children aged from 3 to teens in recreational and squad classes. PM me (the club admin guy) for more info, or to book a trial. #BounceBackintoGymnastics

07.01.2022 Our competition-starved trampolinists due to COVID have finished the year with some incredible performances at the Queensland Levels Championships in Caloundra, 5-6 December. The club's outstanding competitor was Saxon Walters who followed up his 2 gold medals at last month's South Queensland Interclub event with two State Championship golds. By working hard all term, Saxon increased his scores and totally deserved his wins. Another highlight of the weekend was Matilda Briggs... and Amielle Davidson winning silver in Synchronised Trampoline. Initially they were terminated as they did not start their routine together, but because of extremely loud music on the adjoining Rhythmic comp floor, they were allowed another chance. Other outstanding performances came from Erin Hopgood who had not competed for two years due to injury. She won gold and silver medals. Our National rep, Charlotte Johnstone, who was robbed of the chance to compete at Worlds in Tokyo by COVID, did not have her best comp but still pulled out a gold and two silvers. Alex Ibbotson won two bronze, as did Bella Malcolm. Other medalists were Courtney Burns (silver), Kate Johnstone (bronze) and Kade Finley (bronze). Whilst I am very proud of our medalists, there were a lot of kids who worked hard all term and achieved personal bests. Finalists (who finished 4th-6th) are shaded pink on the attached results sheet. Both Ashtons (King and Cox) and Charlie Ebbstein all suffer badly from nerves, however in this event they managed to hold it together and complete routines and passes. They weren’t always very nice BUT I was so proud of them! I am very proud of all our competitors and the parental support that we received, with a shout out to club staff and volunteers who gave up their weekend to judge, coach and officiate at the event. I look forward to 2021, we can go back to learning skills for a while, hopefully get more Pit training sessions and start preparing for the next comp near the end of Term 1. Last but not least, congratulations to Erin Hopgood, Charlotte and Kate Johnstone and Ryder Cunningham who all qualified on DMT for the 2021 National Championships to be held at Carrara in May.
